WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 4 Preview | FireSquad tries to put out the dumpster fire

We have reached the midway point of the fall season in Ultimate Hoops Westminster. One team has stood head and shoulder above the rest. Who's going to make the push to be the number two or three teams in the league? This week should be a good test to see what that will be.

White Iversons vs. The Gladiators

Coming off a heartbreaking loss last week, White Iversons will face off against a pretty good Gladiators team. The Gladiators are off to a good start this season, much to the surprise of the rest of the league. This is going to be an up and down game with lots of scoring and fast break basketball. Likely, the winner of this game will be the team who makes the most threes, as this being both teams’ strong suits. Look for Saul Chavira to do most of the scoring for his squad while White Iversons could be led by a number of players on that given night. This is one exciting first game that no one will want to miss.

FireSquad vs. The Tropics

The Tropics are 0-2 and are still adding some players to their squad. They improved from week 1 to 2 with the addition of Jay Dinkel. Although this team isn’t going to be the favorite most weeks, they are going to compete and have the potential to surprise some people this season. After a stunning season last year, FireSquad is off to a less than stellar start at only 1-3. This is a key game for them to try and get back on track and start winning some games like they did last season. With the loss of Omar Juarez, this team has struggled to find cohesiveness. Still, they are a good team but will need to step up their play if they want to have a deep run in the post season this year.

The Kardashians vs. Havoc

Fresh off of a key win last week, the Kardashians are feeling confident in their team. When all their players show up, this is one team that is a force in the Ultimate Hoops league. Havoc is a newer team this year, but has showed some promise as they have competed very hard in the first three weeks. Sitting at 1-2, Havoc wants this game badly to bring them back up to .500. The Kardashians will be a favorite this week, but don’t sleep on Havoc, as they could surprise some people.

IMPACT vs. Eat, Sleep, Ball, Repeat

IMPACT is the unanimous number one team in Ultimate Hoops and is always going to be the favorite each and every week. ESBR is one of the surprise teams this season and are playing at a very high level. For IMPACT, they just need to play their game and they should be in a good position to get the win this week. ESBR needs a complete team effort and a little luck from outside if they want to pull the upset. This game could get exciting if the game is close towards the end. Every season there are some Ultimate Hoops surprises so who knows if this game could be this years.

The Bad Boys vs. Purple Cobras

The Bad Boys are looking the best they have looked in years and are looking to gain momentum each week. Purple Cobras are winless this season, but a win this week could change everyone’s perspective about them. This is a typical trap game where The Bad Boys will be the favorites but shouldn’t take the Purple Cobras lightly or it could end up biting them.
