COMMERCE REC: The Final Four | Which two teams will make it to the promise land
Jarrod Rice and Devante Pennyman ready for the playoffs
There are 4 teams left to see who will be crowned UH Summer Champions. With the defending champs Sons of Basketball missing the playoffs for the first time in 3 seasons, there will be a new champion again for the 4th consecutive season in UH Commerce.
GAME 1 - C4 vs Runnin' Rebels: This game will be very interesting. These 2 teams have faced off twice already this season. The Rebels came up short and extremely short in both games. The last time the 2 teams met was in week 7, which was a blowout win where they allowed the youngstar Justin Dabish go off for a career high 51 points. The scariest thing about the loss for the Rebels was that C4 did not have Brandon Cassise for that game. The best thing riding for the Rebels is that they won their final game of the season to put them into the playoffs. If they can ride that momentum into this game, they may have a decent chance of getting back to the championship game. The biggest question in this game is who will help take some of scoring load off of Julius Barnett. The supporting cast will play a huge role in this game.
Prediction: C4 - 93 Runnin Rebels - 79
GAME 2 - Hit Squad vs Weekend Warriors: There isn’t much that can really be said about thisgame. Both teams have were predicted to be in the playoffs and competing for a championship this season or even playing each other in the championship game. Well, they get to meet a week early to see who will have a chance to hoist the championship trophy in another week. The 2 teams met in week 2 and week 7 of the season. Both teams added players before the deadline, and it seems to be paying off for Hit Squad. The acquisition of Desmond Sain and the release of Domonique Washington is paying dividends for the team. This will definitely be a back and forthgame. But Hit Squad has the better defensive team and we all know they are still hurting from that half court fade away buzzer beating loss last season in the semi finals.
Prediction: Hit Squad - 87 Weekend Warriors - 79
