COMMERCE REC: Power Rankings | The race for the final spot
Kachi with the steal
Things are starting to heat up in the Rec league. Time to see where the teams are standing.
1. C4 (5-1) – GM Joseph Kassis seems to have pushed the right buttons for his team at the right time. The Nafso brothers are starting to give teams more than they can handle, with their blazing speed and ability to get to the rim. It’s making teams respect them more and make life a little easier for Jeff Jayson and Brandon Cassise.
2. Weekend Warriors (4-2) – GM Mike Hand has made a mid-season acquisition by acquiring Domonique Washington. Dom started the season with Hit Squad, but rumor was there was not enough minutes on the team for him. The Warriors have been solid all season long. The team is looking to make a push to the championship for the 2nd consecutive season.
3. Sons Of Basketball (3-3) – The Sons dropped to number 2 in the power rankings for the first time in a while. They’re 1-3 in the last 3 weeks, and with only 3 weeks remaining there has to be some concern with this team. But they are champions and I’m sure they will figure it out.
4. Running Rebels (3-3) – You can’t sleep on the Rebels. This seasons team has been kind of hard to figure out. The team has played just about every one of their games extremely close. With them only having one go to player on the team, it makes it easier for other teams to lock in and game plan for games that are close down the stretch. Maybe the team can things around the last few weeks of the season and become a title contender again.
5. Hit Squad (3-3) - GM Devante Pennyman picked up Desmond Sain and Derrick Foster, and so far his team is 2-1 with them. Hit Squad has a huge game coming up against the Sons of Basketball. If they win this game they will split series and put them in a tie for 3rd. Pennyman plans on his team to keep making strides to move up in the standings as the season is coming to a close.
6. One Under (0-6) – This team has taking the turn for the absolute worst. Rumor has it GM Mike Welsh has left his own team and joined the Sons of Basketball. I don’t know if that’s possible, but we shall find out.
