WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 8 Preview | The last two undefeated teams square off

We have reached the final week in the regular season in Westminster. There are still plenty of questions that need to be answered before we hit the playoffs.

Bro Science Life vs. Big Trouble in Lil Westy

Big Trouble is coming off of two buzzer beaters in a row, while Bro Science Life are coming off a good win in week 7. Both teams like to shoot the ball from deep while applying less emphasis on the defensive end of the court. This game will surely be a shootout, and it could come down to who has the hotter hand between Justin Meineke and Sam Stoveall. Both teams are battling for playoff position and this is a crucial game to gain momentum heading into the playoffs next week.

Long Shots vs. Slam Drunk

The Long Shots are probably the best team with a losing record that Ultimate Hoops has seen in a long time and they will go into this week with a chip on their shoulder. Slam Drunk has struggled all year and are even struggling to get enough people to show up for their games. Long Shots will be the favorite and will push the pace in order to put the game away early. Slam Drunk is a very streaky team, and unless their shot is falling, I find it will be difficult for them to get the win this week.


Splash City vs. The Kardashians

The Kardashians struggled last week without a few of their key players. If they want to win this week, they MUST have all their players show up. Splash City has been clicking on all cylinders all year and are currently sitting in 3rd place. With a win this week and a loss from the other top teams, could put them ahead in the standings come the playoffs next week. The Kardashians need their bigs to play that way this game, as rebounding was their achilles heel last week in a loss. This game is needed for both teams so look for them to both fight until the end.

Scorgasm vs. FireSquad

In the last game of the regular season, the lone two undefeated teams go at it for the number one seed. FireSquad has surprised everyone this season and will need to be on their “A” in order to get the win. Scorgasm will look to pound it inside and use their height advantage to score easy buckets. This will be an exciting game where everyone will be rooting for FireSquad to outmatch the dominant team in Scorgasm.

The Bad Boys vs. The Gladiators

In a battle of lower positioned teams, this game will bring some excitement and will certainly draw the attention of the whole gym. This game will get physical and there will probably contain a lot of yelling and aggression. In a game where playoff position is crucial, expect both teams to be in their top form. These two teams made a mid season trade and now we will see just who the victor of that trade was.

Young Bucks vs. Life Time Legends

These two teams have already played this season but are matching up again in what should be a closely contested game. Life Time Legends continue to impress after almost getting the victory against a very good team last week. Young Bucks are still struggling and will probably be glad when this final game is over.
