WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 7 Preview | Crunch time approaches

The top four teams in Westminster are sitting pretty going in to the final two weeks of the season. The next eight is where the picture gets a little cloudy. Who can separate themselves in week 7?

Long Shots vs. Splash City

We start off the night with a bang as two very good teams lead off a good night of basketball at Westy Ultimate Hoops. Long Shots are 3-3 but are a way better team than their record indicates. Splash City is sitting near the top of the standings having only had one loss this whole year. Both teams are offensive juggernauts and its who is willing to step up on the defensive end that will come out with the win this night.

Bro Science Life vs. The Gladiators

Bro Science Life is coming off a much needed win and will look to keep that momentum heading into this matchup. The Gladiators are coming off a heartbreaking loss last week and will use this week as an attempt to bounce back and got some more wins under their belt before playoffs start. With the addition of Phil Greene, these Gladiators are a much different team and this should be a pretty good matchup. Each week, Justin Meineke has put up big numbers but his team has still struggled to get some wins. They are a way better team than their record indicates, so expect them to get into their groove before playoffs start. This game will have a lot of three pointers and will likely be high scoring. It will surely be a fun game to watch.

Slam Drunk vs. FireSquad

Both teams have been surprises this season. Slam Drunk surprisingly bad and FireSquad surprisingly good. FireSquad goes in with their undefeated record on the line as Slam Drunk goes in with nothing to lose. I see this game being a lot closer than most would expect but a “soft” schedule for FireSquad has left people wondering just how good this team really is. It won't be until the last week when FireSquad plays Scorgasm that we will see just what this team is really made of. FireSquad should win this week, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Slam Drunk caught the hot hand and shot themselves into a victory.

Big Trouble in Lil Westy vs. Life Time Legends

Big Trouble is finally starting to click and were able to squeeze off a close victory last week. The Life Time Legends still aren’t racking up points in the win column but have competed in every game this year. The Legends two big men down low have kept them in games and will need to dominate this game to even have a chance this week. Big Trouble is very streaky and a cold shooting hand could really be their achilles heel.

The Kardashians vs. Scorgasm

The Kardashians will be playing their first game without Michael Skinner as he just left back for school. The Kardashians relied on him a lot and sometimes even too much for that matter. It will be interesting to see who will step up with the scoring load that Michael provided. Scorgasm is still undefeated and feels like they are the best team in the league. Its rumored that the Kardashians big man, Marquise Scott won't be there this week, so the Kardashians are really going to have to pull something out of their sleeve in order to get the victory. Beau Barney is still the main option for Scorgasm and slowing him down is one of the only ways to beat this team.

Young Bucks vs. The Bad Boys

Its a big question as to if the Young Bucks even have enough players to play a game this week. Much of their team goes to school and have left last week. The Bad Boys will be the favorites in this matchup regardless but it would be nice if they would get to play a game this night.
