WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 6 Preview | Can the Long Shots pull the upset?

The playoff picture is still unclear in Westminster. A few teams have solidified their spots in the eight team playoff to advance to the Colorado state playoffs in Centennial, but there is plenty of work to do for others. Who can make a move this week?

Bro Science Life vs. Slam Drunk

In the first game of the night, the leagues most surprising sturggling teams head at it in a pivotal game that is needed for both sides. Bro Science Life has the talent and chemistry to pull together some wins, just this season the shots haven’t went their way. Slam Drunk has had a pretty similar season and this season is by far their worst in the many seasons they have played in Ultimate Hoops. Justin Meineke had the hot hand with 47 points last week and will likely need another scoring output of that magnitude to put Bro Science Life in the best position to win this week. Slam Drunk will need to push the pace on this veteran team and use their youth and athleticism to push the pace and get some easy buckets in transition.

Scorgasm vs. Long Shots

This game has the makings to be the Ultimate Hoops GAME OF THE NIGHT as the undefeated Scorgasm take on a very very good team in Long Shots. Long Shots started out the season with two losses but since then have won three in a row. Scorgasm, led by Beau Barney have looked great all season and with the addition of big man Brian Stamer, seem almost unstoppable. Long Shots love to get out and run and have done that all season allowing them to get convincing victories along the way. If their is one knock on Scorgasm, its their defense and that is something the Long Shots will need to find a way to exploit if they want to pull off the upset this week.

Big Trouble in Little Westy vs. The Gladiators

Don’t look now but the Gladiators have won 2 in a row and are looking to continue that streak this week. Big Trouble is 2-3 and are struggling to pull together a couple of good games in a row. Since adding Phil Greene, the Gladiators seem like a completely new team and this game is sure to be a close one. Although they are loaded with talent, Big Trouble doesn’t seem to have the chemistry to take them to the upper end of the standings week after week. This game is a must win for both teams and expect them both to fight until the very end.

The Bad Boys vs. Splash City

The Bad Boys are still struggling and Splash City is still riding high. Many don’t give The Bad Boys a chance this week, but these are the type of games the Bad Boys live for; upsets. Splash City has played well all year and will look to gain some momentum heading into the playoffs as they battle for playoff seeding. The Bad Boys will need to lean on their two big men in the middle, while Splash City will look to beat you from the outside. These teams have contrasting styles and these styles will clash this week.

FireSquad vs. Life Time Legends

FireSquad has surprised everyone this season and has shot their way into the top of the standings. Life Time Legends also have surprised everyone with their ability to compete each and every week. FireSquad tends to be “on fire” almost every game and their 3 point shooting is what has earned them so many wins this season. The Life Time Legends have a very good big inside that could actually pose problems for the guard oriented Fire Squad. FireSquad will be the favorite this week but don't be surprised in the Legends don’t muscle their way into a close game.

The Kardashians vs. Young Bucks

The Young Bucks hold the worst record in the league and this game wont favor them either. The Kardashians have played solid all year and have too much firepower to really make a game of this. This will be Michael Skinner's farewell game as he heads off to college so expect a few dunks and dazzling plays on his end.
