ATLANTA, GA: Atlanta OPEN Championship | Playoff Schedule and Rules

It’s Playoff Time, and for the first year in Atlanta the tournament has gone to the official Atlanta OPEN Championship. From now on, Ultimate Hoops bragging rights won’t just be at your local club. If you want to hang a banner, you will have to go through every team in Atlanta. Since this is the first tournament, let’s get down to how everything will play out and clarify some rules.


FIRST ROUND/REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
June 9th to June 14th (ALL LOCATIONS)

The First Round is your regional tournament. The games will be played at your home location on your regular league night. The teams will be seeded 1-6 based on their place in the standings (Prime Time Playas will receive a BYE in the first round at Sugarloaf due to their only being 5 teams).

QUARTERFINALS
June 17th ALPHARETTA

For the 9 teams that move on in the tournament from round 1, they will be re-seeded 1-9 in the Atlanta OPEN Tournament. The 8 and 9 seed will have a play-in game before the start of the quarterfinals on the same night as the quarterfinals. Your seed will be selected by a Voting Committee that consists of all 3 league coordinators. After the entire 1st round is finished, we will release the Atlanta OPEN seeding on the evening of Sunday June 14th on our At the Line Selection Show. The play-in game and quarterfinals will take place on Wednesday June 17th starting at 7PM at Alpharetta.

FINAL FOUR
June 22nd ALPHARETTA

The semi-finals will take place on Monday June 22nd starting at 7:30PM at Alpharetta.

FINALS
June 24th ALPHARETTA

The finals will take place on Wednesday June 24th at 7:30PM at Alpharetta.

SPECIAL PLAYOFF RULES

1. NO SUBSITUTIONS: No players are allowed to fill in for any team if they are not on their official roster. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
2. ELIGIBILITY: A player must be on a team’s official roster, played at least one regular season game with that team, and must be current with their membership and league fees to participate in the playoffs.
3. MULTIPLE TEAMS: If you play on multiple teams and you are on their official roster you can participate with both teams. If your teams play each other, you must pick one team to play with for the entire game. After the game you may resume playing with the team that moved on.
4. GAME CLOCK: The game clock will stop on all made baskets in the final 2 minutes of each game. You still can not advance the ball with a time out at the end of a game.
