SUGARLOAF, GA: Week 8 Preview | Will Teams Rest Their Stars Tonight?

With this being the last game of the season, will coaches play their starters or rest them for the playoffs? With the regional playoffs approaching there are teams that still looking to get all the kinks out before the playoffs. Tonight could give teams that extra momentum they need heading into the playoffs.


Spartans vs Team USA
The Spartans are not looking as strong this year and they are definitely undersized. I look for this team to take special pride in this game and not rest there starters. They are coming off a loss from last week and need this win to get there confidence back. I expect a big game out of Chadam “I GOT THIS” Cole who is leading his team with 17.7 PPG and 3.5 APG, while shooting 65% from the field. With the production from Cole and Julien “Lights Out” Wilson, the Spartans might have what it takes to to get a win. Team USA are ride or die with Devon “You Better Guard Me” Scott. He is leading his team in EVERY category from points all the way down to steals. He as produced every night and might be MVP when all is said and done. But for some reason, I view this team as playing too much isolation ball and not enough team ball. It seems that they are stat hungry instead of championship hungry. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. If this team looks for the open man and trust in each other, they will be a force to be reckoned with.
Prediction: TEAM USA by 7

Prime Time Playaz vs. Team Duke
If you would have asked me 3 weeks ago if Prime Time Playas could even match up against Team Duke, I would have laughed in your face. But times have changed, and Prime Time Playaz are now looking like the best team in Atlanta. With some key additions to the roster, this team could make it to the championship with their back-ups alone. They are coming off a 4 game winning streak and are playing solid basketball. It all starts from there defense. They are leading the league in steals with 8.4 per game and that makes the deference. Team Duke has only lost 1 game and STILL the top seeded team but it seems that they have lost there edge. They look disinterested on the court and rumor has it they had some turmoil in the locker room. If this team can get over the mental part of the game and just play basketball they can reek havoc but only time will tell.
Prediction: Prime Time Playaz by 13

Free Agents vs. Rainmakers
This will be an easy win for the Rainmakers because I don’t think the Free Agent squad will even show up. The Rainmakers needs to find it within themselves to find that leader on and off the court. They need someone who is going to move this team in the right direction and get them to compete night in and night out. They are on a 4 game losing streak and lost last week by an embarrassing 29 points. I recommend to start recruiting now and maybe you all can match up against some of the top teams next season.
