WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 8 Preview | The Quiet Before the Storm

It's hard to believe, but we are already looking at the final week of the regular season in Westminster, CO. Only one playoff position has been locked up, and plenty of teams are looking to get a first round bye.

The Kardashians vs. Long Shots

In the first game of the night, two very good teams will be leading it off. This is a crucial game in which both teams are battling for playoff position. The Kardashians have seemed to gel as of late and the Long Shots are s still playing great basketball like they have all season. Long Shots will look to push the ball and score points fast while the Kardashians tend to slow the game down and get it into their big men down low. There are a lot of good players in this game and this is going to be one of the better games of the whole night.

Hong Kong Diesel vs. The Great Unknown

The Great Unknown are living up to their name as who actually shows up for them each week is usually “Unknown.” Its hard to build chemistry when half the team doesn’t show up and their game how suffered as a result. Hong Kong Diesel hasn’t played to their full capabilities yet this season and to many that is surprising. Both teams are struggling and need this game to gain any momentum they can heading into the playoffs.

MonSTARS vs. We Goin Sizzler

Two evenly matched teams square off in this week 8 matchup. We Goin Sizzler is a way better team now then when they started the season as are the MonSTARS. Both teams have similar play styles where they like to work the ball around and get quality shots in the midrange or on the inside. With the addition of Richard Peterson, the MonSTARS were able to add athleticism and a big scoring threat. We Goin Sizzler will need to neutralize him as well as the MonSTARS post players. We Goin Sizzler moves the ball well and their team chemistry is right up their with the best in the league. This should be a good matchup that will likely go down to the wire.

Hard Work vs. The Bad Boys

I expect this game to get very physical. The Bad Boys are still struggling but they wont just lay down to the number one team in the league. Hard Work was hard pressed last week and with a win this week will go undefeated in the regular season for two leagues straight. The Bad Boys are known to pull some upsets, so could this be their one this season?

The Gladiators vs. Slam Drunk

Slam Drunk has finally found their groove and they will be taking on a very good team in The Gladiators. Ex Slam Drunk player Mason Clements-Thompson will be taking on his former team and will be eager to beat his former teammates. Slam Drunk plays really well as a team and to get the win it will take good basketball play from every one of their players. The Gladiators greatest asset is also their greatest weakness at times. They like to shoot a lot of threes and score points fast. However, if their shot isn’t falling, it could be a long game for them. This should be a close game and the winner could be decided pending a few key plays down the stretch.
