SUGARLOAF, GA: Week 3 Power Rankings | The Rainmakers Could Knock Off Some Big Names This Season

The Rainmakers might lack size, but could make some waves this season.

Three weeks are in the books and right now there are still only 2 teams that look like they could contend for the Atlanta championship. Can the former champions get back on track and will the Prime Time Playaz regain their swagger? The Sugarloaf league is looking like the toughest league in Atlanta top to bottom. Let's see how they rank.

1. Team USA (3-0)

Team USA is the complete package. They cruised to a win in Week 3 and they have added even more talent to their already loaded roster. They are definitely the top overall team in Atlanta, and if they play together they should not be beat. The only question still in the air is if top players, such as Tion Watkins and Matt Owusu can share the ball enough and accept a different role than they are used to. So far so good, but it's a long season.

2. Team Duke (3-0)
Team Duke is back this season and looking better than ever. They knocked off the Spartans in Week 3 and Kendrick Jones is playing exceptional basketball. He is currently leading the team with 24.7 PPG and 6.4 Reb. If he can keep up these performances, he will be a tough matchup for everyone in the league. They should be able to hold on to the number 2 ranking at Sugarloaf all season.

3. Spartans (1-2)

The Spartan's can't catch a break this year. They played another tough game vs Team Duke, but they haven't been able to put together the same quality of basketball they showed last year. The league has definitely improved and I think they will need to add one more scorer if they want to contend again. They are still in the upper echelon of the league, but pretty soon that needs to start turning into wins.

4. Prime Time Playazz (1-2)

Prime Time cam short handed again and they were no match for Team USA. Coach/Player Dawayne Burton needs to take another look at his roster and make some changes. Roderick Booker had a good game, but he needs some help. That may be the worst loss in the history of Prime Time. The question that we want to answer is was this an outlier or a sign of things to come.

5. Rainmakers (1-2)

The Rainmakers got a nice win knocking off the Free Agents and jump 1 spot in the rankings. They are a very good team and if any of the top teams try and take them lightly they will be in trouble. Expect the Rainmakers to knock off some big names this season, but I don't know if they have the overall talent to get to deep into the playoffs.

6. Free Agents (0-3)

The Free Agents have come so close so many times this young season. They keep getting right there, but they do not have a player that can close it out down the stretch. Romie Suljic has had a very solid season and knocked down big shots for the Free Agents, but if they plan on winning a game this year they need someone to step up and be a leader.
