SHELBY REC: Back To Back | Performance Fiberglass Wins Fourth Straight Against Y-Lie In Championship Round
Performance Fiberglass and Y-Lie played in another classic match-up. Performance started the game off very well, jumping to a 30-15 lead on Y-Lie. Y-Lie adjusted though, and they came fighting back. Johnnie Brown, the Most Valuable Player this season, showed why he deserved the trophy. He had 30 points, rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. He shot .69 percent from the field, and also getting to the free throw line 7 times. Speaking of Free-throws, it was a tough for Y-Lie last night at the charity stripe. 7-15 from the line, under .50 percent, in this game, I believe that’s the thing you maybe have to look at the most if you’re Y-Lie. A game where you lost by only 3 points, in the final minute of the game. For Performance it’s another trophy in the showcase. They almost let this one slip away, when Y-Lie took the lead late in the game. Bill Treece hit a big three to put them up by 1. After some free-throws, Dominic Dunlap had a chance to tie the game up, looked like a foul by Anthony Muscat on Dunlap’s attempt, but it was a no call, and Performance moved on with the win.
Congratulations to Performance on winning back to back championships.
