COMMERCE, MI REC: Who Will Be Named Rookie Of The Year?
Julius Barnett Trying To Win The Rookie Of The Year Award
The regular season is almost over and it’s almost time to hand out end of the season awards. We have trimmed the list down to who we feel are deserving, and here are our finalists for the Rookie Of The Year Award:
Julius Barnett - (Running Rebels)
Viktoras Merkericius - (Running Rebels)
Lonnie Fairfax - (One Under)
All 3 players are very deserving of this season's Rookie Of The Year Award. They have helped their teams in various ways. Julius runs the show for his team and is a volume shooter to get his points. He is constantly on the attack. He is averaging 21ppg, 4 rebounds, and 2 assist.
Viktoras might be the most dominant big in the league this season. He runs rim to rim and commands a double team almost every time. He’s averaging 19 ppg, 7 rebounds, while shooting 65% from the field.
Lonnie is the best on ball defender we have seen in this league since Temofe Anyameluna. Some say he might be even better. He’s averaging 11ppg, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. He has been a breath of fresh air for One Under as he helps create easier shots for teammates and relieves ball handling duties of Desmond Sain.
With 2 games left in the season, we will see what each newcomer will do to wrap up the season. Stay tuned to find out which of these 3 ballers will take home the Newcomer of the year award!
