MONTVALE, NJ: A New Season and a New Contender?

The Summer League is underway in Montvale, and while just five teams will be fighting for the title, it already looks like we’re going to see some quality basketball with more balanced, stacked clubs. Is the Dream Team one of them?

Comprised of almost all new UHoopsters, the Dream Team has arrived. An ambitious name, that’s for sure. But at least they didn’t disappoint in Week 1. In fact, Chris Patrick seems to think his team can play with the big boys. Apparently, that means you RUNt. Don’t get too cocky “Dream Team” …Remember how Vince Young’s proclamation with the Eagles turned out a few years ago?




Anyway, if anyone is allowed to begin the season with some swagger, it is in fact Team RUNt. We already know what RUNt can do from last season, and it looks like they have returned with even more weapons. Sure, their Week 1 rout came vs. Team Randy, a perennial pushover, but it looks like RUNt has a few new faces (like Michael Kern and Ryan Dawson) that are going to make this squad even more dangerous. By the way, a 17-1 run to start to last night’s game? Come on, Randy, you guys are better than that...well, maybe not. On the other hand, perhaps RUNt is just that good.
