REC MADNESS: Heath Stoll's Live Blog from Plymouth's Play-in Games

Tune-in tonight around 6pm CDT for Heath Stoll's Live Blog from the playoff play-in games at the Plymouth Life Time Fitness.

Shortly after tonight's games around [approximately 10:30pm CDT], the Sweet 16 seedings will be released and filled in "real-time" in the above graphic at the top. This will be an epic night of Ultimate Hoops Basketball!

6:39- OK, we're finally logged in. 19:30 left in the 2nd half, Chaos leading the Generals 47-38. AND ONE BOI!!!! from Kendric Mills. He said it, not me...

6:44 - Sorry for the technical difficulties. The pace in this game greatly favors Chaos. The Generals have not looked comforatble with the quick decisions Chaos is forcing them to make. Chaos quickness and ability to hit open jumpers has negated the vast size advantage that the Generals have. Without Eric Hinton on the court for Chaos, the Generals' shortest player is still taller than Chaos' tallest... 52-44 Chaos, 14"30 to go.

6:46 - Generals starting to realize that the way to get back into the game is in the paint. Post bucket by Strom, Offensive Rebound and putback by Van Oort, and another inside hoop by Strom has the Generals within two. Timeout Chaos.

6:50 - The Generals have given up 7 offensive rebounds, 5 of which have led to points by Chaos. No excuse for that with their height advantage. Cannon banks in a straightaway jumper (yikes), Chaos up 59-51 with 8 minutes left.

6:53 - Steal and a runout by Chaos, they're on a 6-0 run to push the lead back to 10. Timeout Generals.

7:01 - Big back-to-back 3's by Olson cuts the Chaos lead to 5! Olson is 5-for-7 from 3, and just got fouled on another one. Going to the line for 3 shots. 1:46 left.

7:03 - Olson hits all three and is on a 9-0 run by himself. Chaos lead down to 2 again.

7:04 - Tie game with 50 seconds left as Bruun hits a big three from the corner for the Generals. Timeout Chaos, and they are animated on the bench.

7:06 - Chaos holding for the last shot...

7:06 - Forced layup leads to a chance for the Generals. Rebound and timeout with 13 seconds left. I wonder if Olson will get the ball... Neuenfeldt predicts "Overtime for sure"

7:08 - FOUL AS TIME EXPIRES!!!!!! Bruun to the line to win it!!!!!!

7:09 - He hits the first!!!!! Game over! Controversy to ensue... Chaos wanted a charge...

7:13 - St. Baul and Blue Chips will tip off in a few minutes... But I'm not sure how that game can be topped.
-------------------------------------------------------------

7:16 - Klobe is OUT for St. Baul...

7:19 - Ugly game offensively. Justin Samuelson the only one who can get anything going, he's 2-for-2 and St. Baul is up 4-0.

7:20 - Make that 3-for-3. Blue Chips finally hit a shot, 6-3 St. Baul with 17:30 in the 1st.

7:22 - Riddley has hit 2 threes and Gjestvang adds a layup to tie it at 8.

7:24 - The Samuelson brothers have accounted for all 10 of St. Baul's points. After starting the game 0-3 from three-point range, he's got two quick layups. Halverson scores a bucket and a foul on the other end and has the Blue Chips up 3 with 12:20 reamaining.

7:26 - Blue Chips up 16-10 as Riddley scores a layup and a foul. He and Halverson are carrying the load for the Blue Chips.

7:28 - Daly hits a pair of free throws and St. Baul finds themselves down by 8 midway through the first.

7:30 - St. Baul struggling to find any flow on offense. Herzberg is 1-for-9 and shows no sign of showing any restraint. His 1 make is a 3, however, and brings St Baul back within 3 with 7:42 remaining in the 1st half.

7:31 - Both Samuelsons on the bench for St Baul. We'll see how long this lasts...

7:34 - The Lewers are getting in on the action now, as they have 7 straight for St. Baul. Halverson has gone cold for the Blue Chips, and St. Baul decreases the lead to 2.

7:36 - Justin Samuelson snares his 7th rebound of the half as St. Baul attempts to tie the game. They're shooting 2-for-13 from three-point range. You have to think that'll turn around sooner or later...

7:38 - Make that 2-for-14 as Ryan Samuelson misses another. Pinkett is there for the putback, though, and followed by another Justin Samuelson rebound and put-back, and St. Baul is up by 3.

7:40 - St. Baul holds for the last shot of the half. Ryan Samuelson dishes to his brother Justin, who gets fouled but somehow there is a no-call. Time expires on the 1st half, St. Baul up 26-25.

7:45 - 2nd half starts much more quickly than the 1st as the teams trade 3's. Simon Lewer adds the third 3 of the half, St. Baul up 4.

7:47 - St Baul pushing the pace now as Simon and Ryan Samualson finish tough layups. Halverson is 0-6 from 3 but adds two free-throws to end the run. St. Baul leads 36-30 with 16:00 left.

7:49 - Halverson finally connects, and Oertli adds a putback and cuts St Baul's lead to 3. Justin Samuelson checking in...

7:51 - Riddley on Justin Samuelson is a mis-match that greatly favors St. Baul. With 13 mintues left, Justin scores his 10th point and has a double-double. Simon Lewer hits another 3 - his third - but Riddley answers with his own and St Baul leads by 4.

7:54 - Riddley hits another three and the Blue Chips now lead by one. Timeout St Baul with 10:40 remaining.

7:56 - St Baul back up 1 with a post basket by Herzberg. St Baul have definately dominated inside, but the Blue Chips are hanging around with threes and free throws.

7:57 - Justin Samuelson with another bucket, then gets two consecutive blocks on Riddley layup attempts. They lead to an easy layup by Herzberg - who has 10 points- on the other end. Timeout Blue Chips with 7:38 remaining and St Baul up 52-47.

8:00 - Justin Samuelson has taken over the defensive end. A block followed by a steal leads to a Ryan Samuelson and-one layup. St Baul by 8 with 6:00 left.

8:03 - 4 minutes left, St. Baul now on a run and up by 12. Everyone's getting in on the scoring as Pinkett adds a layup. Halverson gets to the line again for the Blue Chips.

8:04 - Herzberg hits a contested 3, but Halverson hits one immediately at the other end to keep the lead at 10 for St Baul.

8:06 - Blue Chips are fouling with 1:30 left.

8:07 - Blue Chips need to start hitting threes to stay in the game, as St Baul is solid from the line. Ryan Samuelson adds two more to extend the lead to 11 with under a minute to go.

8:09 - Halverson is now 3-for-15 from three-point range. With 39 seconds to go, St Baul leads 73-63 with Justin Samuelson on the line for two. Looks like the 1 seed will advance.

8:11 - 74-63 the final, St Baul moves on. Where will the committee seed this team, who was 6-2 in Bloomington?

8:12 - Next up: Poolboys vs Bulls. Can the Poolboys' home court advantage translate to an upset victory?

8:13 - There was talk during the day of the Bulls missing a player. This may still be the case, but their big scorers: Powell, Nelson, Phelps, and Dudinski are all in attendance.

8:15 - Poolboys score first on a Brown putback. Dudinsky is 0-2 already for the Bulls, who seem to be making an effort to work the ball inside early.

8:19 - Dudinsky hits on his 3rd attempt, then gets fouled on the next possession. He hits one of two and the Bulls now trail 4-3.

8:22 - The Bulls poor spacing on offense is leading to a lot of shots in a congested paint. Nelson, realizing this, steps outside and hits a 3. Bulls lead 8-6.

8:24 - Bulls finding a flow now and have 8 straight points. Timeout Poolboys with 13:39 left in the 1st, Bulls lead 13-6.

8:26 - Dudinsky scores out of the timeout to go up 10.

8:27 - Nelson scores for the Bulls, then Powell steals the inbounds and finishes. Bulls picking up the pace and it's to their favor. 22-9 Bulls lead after a Nelson 3.

8:29 - Powell and Nelson are too quick for the Poolboys guards, the the Bulls are dominating the glass. They lead 26-12.

8:32 - Fuhrman ends the run for the Poolboys with a 15-footer.

8:34 - Powell slips on a drive and turns it over out of bounds. Andrew Brown is playing tough for the Poolboys right now, as he scores a layup and forces a turnover on the other end.

8:35 - Romero Nelson has 14 points already, and is headed to the line for 2. Bulls lead by 10.

8:38 - Fuhrman with a big bucket and foul brings the game within 7, but Powell with a steal and a bucket brings it back to 9

8:40 - Bulls lead 30-21 at the half. Poolboys are playing tough. The lead could easily be double what it is, but the ball has bounced their way a few times and Bulls are shooting just 1-for-7 from the free throw line.

8:44 - The 2nd half is under way and the Poolboys cut the lead to 6 immediately. Bulls have missed their first 3 shots.

8:45 - Fuhrman has 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Poolboys as he hits a tough baseline turnaround. Powell hits a 3 at the other end and the lead is 7.

8:47 - Model with a steal and a layup for the Poolboys as the lead is down to 5...

8:49 - Nelson and Model trade buckets, then Wilske hits his first bucket of the game to cut the lead to 3. Poolboys are hanging around and playing tough.

8:51 - Heck's 3-point attempt to tie just rimms out. I did not think the Poolboys would be shooting to tie this late in the game. 13 minutes left, Bulls still by 3.

8:52 - Egbers hits a layup for the Poolboys and the lead is down to 1. Brown gets to the line on the next possession and hits both to give the Poolboys the first lead since their opening bucket in the first half. 11 minutes left, 38-37 Poolboys.

8:54 - Timeout Bulls. The rebounding has done a 180 in the 2nd half, as the Poolboys get to the line again after an offensive rebound. Fridley commissioner Chad Wessels is in the Bulls huddle giving pointers. After Chaos blew their big lead in game 1, he's getting nervous that Fridley will be shutout in the play-in games...

8:56 - Meanwhile, Dudinsky with a big jumper, a block at the other end (his third) that leads to a Powell 3 has the Bulls up again, 42-39.

9:00 - 48-45 Bulls as the pace is picking up. A few quick transition layups by the Bulls are answered by Fuhrman of the Poolboys.

9:03 - Model at the line for the Poolboys after a rebounding foul on Dudinsky. He hits both to keep the lead at 3 for the Bulls.

9:04 - Timeout Poolboys with 2:31 remaining. 51-48 Bulls, possession arrow favors the Bulls.

9:05 - Two straigh turnovers by the Bulls leaves the Poolboys with a chance to take the lead.

9:06 - Make that three straight, and the Bulls can thank the Poolboys giving it right back. 51-50 with 1:28 left.

9:07 - Bulls are in the bonus now as Phelps heads to the line for a 1-and-1.

9:07 - Wessels freaking out on the sidelines. Phelps hits both, Bulls up 3 with 1 minute left.

9:08 - Poolboys miss, Bulls rebound, Powell fouled and hits both. Bulls by 5.

9:10 - Bulls are hitting free throws down the stretch, but the Poolboys are answering right back. Poolboys down 3 with 35 secs left.

9:12 - Brown misses, Powell with the rebound. Powell hits both free throws, then scores on a runout aftetr a Wilske turnover.

9:13 - Bulls escape 61-54. Credit the Poolboys - the 2nd-to-last team in, for hanging tough and giving them a run for their money.

9:14 - Next up: Noisy Withdrawal vs Thunder. I'm looking forward to this one, as I thought Noisy Withdrawal deserved a higher seed than they got.

9:18 - Teams are checking in and lining up for the tip-off. Here we go with the nightcap!

9:19 - No Kyle Meade for Noisy Withdrawal. That could be a huge blow to their chances. Springer and Goodman will have to pick up the slack.

9:20 - Maltby and Jacobson with 3 pionts apeice early. Walz also hits a 3 for the Thunder, and it's 6-3 out of the gate.

9:22 - Noisy Withdrawal in their reliable 2-3 zone. Should be an interesting matchup against one of the better penetrate-and-dish guards in the league in the Thunder's Jeremy Bachman.

9:23 - Thunder heating up from outside as Hanson hits from deep.

9:25 - Thunder hit another 3. They're shooting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and lead 14-13 with 15 minutes left in the 1st.

9:28 - Entertaining game so far. Noisy Withdrawal needs to lock up the perimiter if they want to win. The Thunder are a team that could pull away with threes.

9:30 - Thunder are struggling inside as Goodman scores two buckets in a row. Noisy Withdrawal leads 26-21.

9:33 - Maltby gets his 2nd steal of the night and it leads to an and-one opportunity that he converts. Noisy Withdrawal leads by 7 with 6:42 in the 1st.

9:37 - Walz picks up a technical for the frustrated Thunder. Goodman hits both shots and will take the ball out of bounds. The Thunder have missed their last 4 shots and trail by 9.

9:39 - Noisy Withdrawal's pesky defense has the Thunder visibly flustered. Martynenko hits a three for the Thunder, but Springer answers right back and extends the lead to 13 for Noisy.

9:42 - Noisy Withdrawal holds the ball for the last shot, and Goodman hits a spinning layup. Noisy has to be feeling good as they head into halftime leading 47-32.

9:43 - The Thunder were controlling the game early with their three point shooting, but their shooting cooled off and their tempers heated up. Noisy Withdrawal has been able to impose their desired pace on the game, and ave answered every run the Thunder have made. 2nd half starting shortly...

9:45 - Walz opens the half with a 3, and after a Noisy turnover, Martynenko adds another. The 15 point lead is suddenly down to 9...

9:48 - Another 3 by Walz, and Noisy Withdrawal has yet to score in the 2nd half.

9:49 - Bachman hits a 3 as well, the lead is down to 3, timeout Noisy Withdrawal.

9:51 - Two more quick scores for the Thunder. They have started the half on a 16-0 run and now have a one point lead.

9:53 - Noisy Withdrawal finally hits a couple shots and is back up by 2, 55-53.

9:55 - They're going back-and-forth as both teams are scoring now. Springer and Goodman ave scored the last 9 for Noisy Withdrawal.

9:57 - 64-63 Noisy with 12:05 left. Timeout Thunder to talk things over and catch a breather.

9:58 - Thunder hit another 3, and that makes 16 as a team. That's 73% of their scoring coming from behind the arc.

10:00 - Springer hits again, and has 17 points and 10 rebounds. Goodman has 18 points and 4 assists for Noisy. Tied at 70 with 8:45 left.

10:02 - Timeout Thunder as Noisy has scored 7 straight.

10:05 - Maltby and Jacobson have both scored more than 2 points over their season averages for Noisy Withdrawal. They are filling in nicely for the missing Meade.

10:07 - with 3 minutes left and up by 3, Springer pulls up for three. Neuenfeldt: "Why are they shooting?!?!" Springer nails it anyway to put Noisy up 84-78.

10:09 - 1:20 remaining, Noisy up 86-79 after a tough layup by Goodman.

10:10 - After a miss by the Thunder and a Noisy Withdrawal rebound, the Thunder are forced to foul with 1:02 left.

10:12 - A miss by Goodman and a 3 by Martynenko cuts the lead to four. An immediate foul puts Noisy's Jacobson on the line, who hits the first. Timeout Noisy.

10:13 - 23 seconds remaining, Thunder need a 3 to tie!

10:15 - A shooting foul on a two point attempt puts the Thunder's Walz on the line, trailing by 3. 14 seconds left.

10:15 Walz hits both, then fouls Goodman immediately on the inbound. Goodman bounces the first in, swishes the 2nd.

10:16 - Timeout Thunder with 8 seconds left. They need a three to tie. Will Noisy foul before they get the chance?

10:17 - They wont, and Walz hits a 3 to tie!!!!! We're headed to overtime!!!!!

10:18 - Thunder win the tip and score right away. They have the momentum. Noisy cannot afford to start the overtime period like the 2nd half.

10:20 - Fast paced start to the overtime.. Noisy Withdrawal leading 96-92 with under a minute to go.

10:21 - Bachman hits a pair of freethrows to bring it within 2. Questionable shot selection by Noisy Withdrwawal and the Thunder can tie again. Timeout Thunder with 32.8 to go. 96-94 Noisy.

10:24 - The game is over, Noisy Withdrawal wins by three!!!!!! A great end to a great game that ends a great night. We have our four play-in winners: Generals, St Baul, Bulls, and Noisy Withdrawal. Off to the seedings!
