MANSFIELD, TX: Power Rankings- Do Numbers Lie?

We Get Buckets' Stephen Wilkes ready for action after the half.

With the competition level going up yet another couple of notches this season, and with the first half of the regular season out of the way where we saw games change on a dime, it makes many spectators rethink as to who we might see in the finals. It also makes it tough to figure out who is really on top thus far when it comes to power rankings, but I think we are pretty accurate here.

#1: The Fundamentalists
They are off to their best start since forming in the Summer of 2013, and seem exceptionally confident about this season. Team Captain Sam Bailey has been red hot, averaging 36.8 points (2nd highest in league), and new addition Marvin Hollie adds much strength to the offensive arsenal putting up 25 a game. They rank last (4th) in almost every category, but have the best record so far. I guess numbers can sometimes lie!

#2: UHoopaz
The current champs have added SG Chris Mitchell and SF Rich Gant to their lineup, but seem to be struggling with their offensive flow, and more so on the defensive side of things as their just doesn't seem to be much of it at all. They've always allowed many points from their opponents, but the difference this season is that they're not putting up more than they're allowing. Bad sign. Maybe they have yet to find that new chemistry amongst each other, or maybe they need to pick it up on defense. In my opinion, it's both. I keep them at #2 because for one they are the current champs, and two I feel if they adjust accordingly, they'll be back on top because they're still that good and that dangerous.

#3: Lunch Ballers
Word on the "street" is that this is everyone's favorite underdog team. They are fun to watch, playing with incredible amounts of energy, and excel with their ability to move the ball with 19 assists per game as a team (1st). The return of PG Adam Rowe along with the addition of SG Dillon Puckett who is a threat from downtown as well as in the paint, keeps this team's heart pumping.

#4: We Get Buckets
They are struggling as team, as we've seen them lose 3 straight before grasping their first win last week, but this win was very significant. PG Chauncey Lusk has found major offensive assistance in the likes of PG/SG Trump Montgomery who recently signed to the team, and he put 35 points, along with 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the 107-84 win over Lunch Ballers. That's right, they scored 107 points, the highest in the league this season. In week 1 they put up a league low 52 points. Major turnaround. They may be at #4 because of their record and past tendencies, but I see something changing here in the future.

What do you think about these predictions? Will we see major turnarounds going into the second half of the season? Leave your comments below!!
