MANSFIELD, TX: Can Redeem Team Shine Without Cam?
Cam makes his move
He's been with his team for quite some time now, and he's been one of the most exciting players to ever watch in this Mansfield league (as well as the entire league), but now he's going off to pursue his career in both athletics and in education this upcoming fall. With many already enlightened of the news, we wonder what will be the fate of last season's champions Redeem Team.
Cam Barnes is the top scorer for his team, as well as leading in rebounds and assists, and one of the top scorers in the league averaging 25.5 ppg. He's explosive, he's aggressive, a strong defender, and brings to the court his intensity and motivation that his team needs. Even though his team has lost a couple of players, and struggle to have 5 each league night, Redeem Team are still strong at #2.
Losing close to 26 points a game is quite a big chunk out of Redeem Team's offense, who heavily rely on Cam to deliver each week, as well as everything else he brings to the court, including height. A very simple question is, what are they going to do?
Cam says that "Even when I'm gone, my team still has to ball. It doesn't stop just because I will be of out of the picture. We still have a chance". Since forming, the team has never had a losing record, with Cam being a part of the team since day 1, and they still have impressive players like Chauncey Lusk who can drive the ball as well as dish, and Elton Baptiste who is a dominant force in the paint on both offense and defense.
Will Redeem Team stay a top contender and get back to the championship this season with Cam gone? Leave your comments below!
