COLUMBUS, OH: Playoffs Preview

COLUMBUS PLAYOFFS

Quarter Final Matchups Preview

State Farm Ballers (7-0): FIRST ROUND BYE

State Farm ended the season with their closest contest of the year. They squeaked by Elevate with a 67-65 victory. League MVP Julian McClurkin and his undefeated team will play the winner of Buckets vs Sunset Park.

Fast Switch (6-2): FIRST ROUND BYE

Fast Switch ended the regular season with a 116-51 blowout against Show Time. Mike Grelle will look to take this momentum into the playoffs against the winner of Elevate vs Show Time.

Wednesday June 5th @ DUBLIN

Game 1: BUCKETS (3-4) vs SUNSET PARK (1-6)

Buckets won both contests against Sunset Park this season. They were both 5 point victories and high scoring affairs, 85-80 and 90-85. Big man Dapreis Owens averaged 27 PPG and 14.5 RPG in the season series. Carlos Rivera (League Scoring Champ) dropped 48 points and 12 rebounds in his single game against Sunset Park. He missed the second contest due to a sprained ankle late in the season. Sunset Park’s dynamic duo of Neil Ewing and Isaiah Osborne each averaged 22 points in the two games. Sunset Park is going to need another stellar performance from their duo in order to give their team a chance in the playoffs.

PREDICTION: BUCKETS over SUNSET PARK, 92-84

Game 2: ELEVATE (4-4) vs SHOW TIME (1-6)

Elevate and Show Time matched up just once this season with the outcome in Elevate’s favor. They won decisively by 35 points, 91-56. All 5 players for Elevate scored at least 15 points in the matchup. Seth Hill led the way with 24 points. The one bright spot for Show Time was Adrian Miller’s 16 points. Show Time is going to need more players to step up and hit open shots if they are going to continue their season. The team shot a measley 28% in the first matchup, while Elevate shot 54% from the field.

PREDICTION: ELEVATE over SHOW TIME, 97-72
