MANSFIELD, TX: Who Shoots Better Than The Vets?
Sam Bailey bringing the ball up
In the past few seasons we have seen spectacular 3-point shooting here at Mansfield, and we have seen many games where it was relied upon to defeat an opponent, but one team may have the deadliest arsenal of sharp shooters.
The VeteransNate Harris after the first game of the season it only got better. Now they are equipped with 3 players with an itchy, but effective trigger hand.
Milan Sanders
Past and present, Milan Sanders is one of the best shooters in Ultimate Hoops, period. He currently holds the top spot at Mansfield for most threes made, shooting 33-73 (45%) from long range. In a devastating loss to rivals Redeem Team in game 6, Milan knocked down 9-20 threes, tying for the most made in one game.
Nate Harris
Nate Harris gets hot. Once he gets hot, he's what I call a loose cannon. His release can be compared to that of Reggie Miller's, quick and unpredictable. Nate is 28-69 (41%) from downtown so far this season, and ties Milan for most threes made in a game with 9 against The SQUAD in game 7.
Charles Carr
What's better than a player with height who has a good post up game? Answer: A player with height who has a good post up game AND a great jump shot. At 6'1" with an impressive arm span, Charles Carr makes it hard to defend him at the 3-point line. He's only played 4 games due to work related issues, but is shooting the highest percentage in threes (58%) among players with 10 or more threes made this season, with 15 going down the drain.
If the Vets can continue shooting as well as they have been, will this give them that edge they've been missing in some of their recent games? Do you think that there is team that shoots better? Leave your comments below!
