Most Valuable Player Watch
1. Daniel Deflorimante - Daniel almost single handedly won the game for his team vs ALL DAY last week. Scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and controlling the floor. He easily made the MVP watch this week and will be looked at closer and closer as the season goes on.
2. Naji Mejalli - The top PPR performer of Mississauga Naji Mejalli put up big numbers last week scoring 30 points and pulling down 5 rebounds. He had an impressive FG and free-throw percentage which was 72% and 80% respectively. Let’s see what he has in store for us this week.
3. Jeremy Alleyne – Another big performer from Mississauga was Jeremy Alleyne. The tall guard has it all, strength, handles, court vision and athleticism. He led his team The Renegades in points dropping the most this season in all over Toronto with 31. The Renegades didn’t play to well the first week but he never gave up and racked up those stats in the books.
Defensive Players of the week
Ajax – Shaquille Francis
Shaquille along with his stellar scoring performance last week was the X factor of his team staying in the game getting 7 steals and having his hands all over the passing lanes. He also had 5 defensive rebounds which is great for a PG
Mississauga - Youssef Daif
Even though Youseff’s Offensive capabilities are great he was the defensive player of this week. Racking up 13 defensive rebounds while still contributing offensively is hard to do.
Offensive Players of the Week
Ajax – Justin Wiltshire
Justin blew up last week scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds, 5 of which was offensive giving his team second chance opportunities. He also hit 4 good jumpers making him more of a threat to his opponents being able to play in the outside and in the mid-range.
Mississauga - Mohammed Sayeed
This was a hard one between Mohammed Sayeed and Naji Mejalli. They had around the same contribution to their teams but Mohammed had more versatility scoring in all points of the court especially with the deep three pointers he had dropping. His ability to dribble at his size is also a big threat seeing over the defense to make plays and getting rebounds over his shorter defenders.
Theres still a lot more talent in both leagues in Toronto. Let’s see who makes the impression this week!
