GILBERT, AZ: Week 8 Power Rankings | Time to rally the troops

Teams like HEAT WAVE look to rally the troops to make a deep run in the tournament

Week 8 Power Rankings

1. SET IT OFF (7-0, LW 1) – Barring any whacky finishes, Jason and crew should wrap up an undefeated season to take home their first Gilbert championship. This is well deserved as they went into the season realizing their shortcomings and picked up, in my opinion, the two best acquisitions of the season. This is a strong team and they should be a top 3 seed going into the tournament.

2. GAME OVER (6-1, LW 2) – They should end this season with just one loss to their name - not too shabby of a season for this veteran group. They made a deep run in last year’s tournament and I expect them to be a top tier team going into this year once again.

3. STAFFBROTHERS (4-3, LW 3) – They’ve had an up and down season all year, but the Commish might have done his best work with this team thus far. Will Sorensen has carried this team all season, but does he have broad enough shoulders to carry them deep into the tournament? We shall see…

4. GRINDIN (2-5, LW 4) – They wrap up a disappointing season with a sub-500 record. On the bright side, MVP candidate Steven Wess has shown that he belongs with the big boys in the league. They have the talent and size to compete with anyone, so they may be the sleeper team come tournament time.

5. HITTIN TRIPS (1-6, LW 5) – A bad season all around as they just couldn’t get it going. James essentially had to bring in a whole new squad this year and the results just haven’t been there. They’ve got the talent and the bigs to play and IF they can just rally as a team, they should be able to win a few games in the tournament. It's going to be a tough road, but I wouldn't put it past this team to get it done.

6. HEATWAVE (1-6, LW 6) – These guys play hard and have started to rally around each other as a team. The rotation has stabilized a bit and I love how they all fight each and every game. It’s going to be a tough climb regardless of where they are seeded, but you won’t find anyone who will root for them harder than me.
