GILBERT, AZ: Week 4 Power Rankings | Crunch Time

Darrell Hunter (Grindin) returns after a couple of seasons off UH and looks to lead his team back to the championship game.

Week 4 Power Rankings

1. HITTIN TRIPS (3-1, LW 1) – So far they are the most consistent team in Gilbert. But a lot is going to rest on the shoulders of their big men. If they can have a healthy Matt Cooper, they should make a deep tournament run. In the meantime, Isaiah Bolton is quietly having a nice little breakout season of his own.

2. GAME OVER (3-1, LW 2) – We have a lot of expectations for this team and so far they’ve done what they’ve always done…win. They will need to continue their strong play and build that chemistry, but we all know that this team will be judged not on their regular season, but how far they get come tournament time.

3. SET IT OFF (2-1, LW 3) – They are a veteran team and should be able to compete in every game. They have found the go-to-guy in Pasquale Brocco which has made the game much easier for the rest of the team. If they continue their strong play, they should be a sleeper team come tournament time.

4. JUST DO IT (2-1, LW 4) – They have added some good pieces to their team and if they learn to play together, they should be a tough out. I think they have all the right pieces to be a very good team, but time will tell if they can all come together and make a solid run.

5. GRINDIN (1-2, LW 5) – No team plays harder than these guys. Mike Rose and Marcus Bernard are as tough as they come. Darrell provides a great all-around game and is one of the smartest players in the game. I just think they are missing that 2nd/3rd scorer. I think they have it in Brent Canada, but he has only played one game so far. As with any other team, they need to have everyone show up or else every game will be a grind.

6. REGULATORS (1-3, LW 6) – This team has gone through a lot the first few weeks of the season. With a couple of their players jumping ship, they currently only have 5 on their roster. It’s tough enough in this league to win, it will be damn near impossible without any size or depth. I hope they are able to get some help soon, because it’s not going to get any easier.

7. GILBERT FA (0-3, LW 7) – This team is a scrappy bunch and the roster is filled with a few solid league veterans. This allows them to actually be competitive in their games. However as with we’ve seen with all FA teams, they will struggle late in games because they lack true team chemistry.
