SUGARLOAF, GA: Week 3 Preview | Can the Spartans Regain their Winning Ways?
The Spartans need a big win in Week 4.
You can never count out the heart of a champion, but do the Spartans still have what it takes to get back to championship form? The Spartans are currently on a two game losing streak and facing one of the top teams in Sugarloaf. Things are not looking promising for the defending champs.
Team USA vs Spartans 7:15PM
Team USA is coming off a 42 point statement which sent a message to the rest of the league that they are the team to beat. With arguably the best backcourt in Atlanta, Tion Watkins and Matthew Owusu, Team USA is beating teams on average by 23 points. They make it seem easy, but they will have their hands full going against the defending champion Spartans. With vocal leader and floor general Dominique Bland leading the way, look for the Spartans to be aggressive defensively and attacking the rim. With the Spartans, Julien “Lights-Out” Wilson on the wing he will cause havoc for Team USA. I am expecting a big game out of him.
Prediction: Spartans by 3
Team Duke vs Free-Agents 8:15PM
This is what I call my “BBQ Chicken” game. Team Duke is playing at its peak and it does not seem that they can be beat at this point of the season. With smart ball movement from Kendrick Jones and Marquis Babb, it may be an early night for for their stars. I predict they will be resting for the remaining of the game with 15 mins to play. No dis-respect to Free Agents, but on paper it does not look like it will be their night. Can Olisa “Beast-Mode” Vnachukwu gather his team together to get an upset as well as their first win? I don’t see it happening, but the game is played between the lines not on paper.
Prediction: Team Duke by 20
Rainmakers vs. PrimeTime Playaz 9:15PM
These two teams are evenly matched, with the Rainmakers getting there first win last week in OT. Look for Kamoni Conley to have another big 20+ point performance this week. He will have his hands full defensively against Marty Johnson of Prime Time who is on a scoring vengeance. Will this gaurd battle live up to the hype or will it be another Mayweather-Pacman battle, all hype but no substance? Only tonight will tell.
Prediction: PrimeTime by 3
