ALPHARETTA, GA: Week 3 Power Rankings | The Spartans Are Coming for Enough Said

Chad Cribbs is wondering when the streak of poor offensive play will end.

We are 3 weeks into the Alpharetta season and things have changed a lot since week 1. The Spartans have a completely new look, and shook up the power rankings this week. They may be good enough to knock off Enough Said, but that remains to be seen.

1. Enough Said (3-0)

Enough Said has some competition this week at the top but they are still the best team in Alpharetta. I'm not sure if they are the best team in all of Atlanta, but they definitely in the top 3. Marcus Brown has become the go to guy on offense after losing Alex Elam a couple seasons ago. They won a tough overtime battle last week with The Late Starters last week. They are a team that just knows how to win tough games. The only down spot for them has been the last 2 game performances by Chad Cribbs . They need him to step us his game if they want to be beat any of the team from Sugarloaf. Overall though they have are a complete team and will be tough to beat this year in Alpharetta. They are in a good place to get top seed in the Atlanta tournament.

2. Spartans (1-2)

The Spartans make the biggest jump this season from the 5 spot to the 2 spot at Alpharetta. They finally added Adalius Thomas, but they also were able to add one of the top players in Ultimate Hoops Tion Watkins. In his first game he scored 41 points and dominated the floor. With this new look the Spartans are a completetly different team in Alpharetta. They are the second best team in Alpharetta, but when we get to tournament time who what team will Watkins and Thomas decide to play for?

3. The Late Starters (2-0)

The Late Starters did not get their best effort fromTony Neysmith. He had his worst scoring effort of the season and they can't expect to beat anyone if he plays that poorly. They have two big time scorers, but they need someone to step up and be a third option for them if they want to beat our top two teams.

4. Team Follies (2-1)

First they lost Willis a now Darcey Schultz is out for the season. Team Follies is dropping faster than some of the people in their team name do on a Friday night. They still have some great talent but now they are trying to work in a lot of new pieces to a team that went 6-2 in the regular season next year. I'm not sure they will be able to figure it all out this spring as they drop a spot in the rankings.

5. Free Agents (1-1)

The Free agents were missing Jay Gooden last week and they struggled without their star. Without Gooden drawing a lot of the defensive attention it was tough for the other Free Agents to get good looks. They are not a very deep team and if they don't have their entire team on a weekly basis expect them to struggle. They will have to add one more player to round out their roster.

6. Mumford Returns (0-3)

Mumford returns missed point guard Mike Hattub last week, but he didn't miss much. Even with Hattub they were in trouble versus a loaded Spartans team. They have some talent, but they are lacking the commitment to play defense for 44 minutes. They have an easier game coming this week so we will see if they can play hard enough to get a win.
