ALPHARETTA, GA: Week 7 | The Rematch

J Rich watching the action from the bench.

As we enter the final two weeks of the Alpharetta Ultimate Hoops regular season, the playoff picture will become much more clear by the end of Sunday night. With three teams still in contention for the two first round byes, the action is expected to be intense. Our marquee match up will take place in the final game of the evening with top two teams in Alpharetta facing off in a rematch from Week 4. The winner of this game will clinch an opening round bye and be in prime position to contend for the league championship.

For the final two weeks, game times have slightly changed and we will be on one court at 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm. The playoffs begin March 14th with the Quarter-final play in games.

The Farm vs. Late Starters 5pm

This will be the first time all year these teams have faced off. Both teams are coming off disappointing losses from Week 6, and I will expect them both to come out with lots of energy. The Farm has only one win this season, and they are learning quickly that teams do not take nights off at Alpharetta. The Farm needs someone to step up and start putting consistent points on the board if they expect to contend in the final weeks. The Late Starters will look to press the action, lead by PG Thomas Lemon, and put The Farm away early. This could get ugly quickly. The Late Starters by 40+.

Enough Said vs. New Rucker Squad 6pm

Although New Rucker Squad is sitting a stellar 0-6, I strongly believe they can make this game close. They have tons of talented players, but they seem to lack any type of leadership. At what point will William Bristow, aka "6-28" show up offensively? He is currently almost 10ppg below his average from the Mountain Brook league. The one bright spot of their winless season has been the renewed play of Mike Hattub. The aging star's game is starting to look a lot less like the color of his hair. For Enough Said, I expect everyone's favorite bench player Chad Cribbs to step up big and help Enough Said stay in the hunt of the a bye. Enough Said by 5.

Max Contracts vs. Team Follies 7pm

I was planning on putting up a huge preview of The Rematch, but I feel there aren't any words to give it justice. I have already said all that needs to be said about my opinion of the guys from Max Contract in previous articles. In the first matchup Team Follies was missing the leagues leading scorer, at 31ppg, Kevin Willis, Jr. After the game the guys from Max Contracts had the audacity to say that if Kevin Willis Jr. had played they would have won by 40 instead of 6. So I'll give them their prediction. Max Contracts by 40. Let's see they can live up to all the talking.
