SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Playoff Seedings Revealed | It's Go Time

The top four teams get the advantage of playing at home, but with the current format, each team is going into the first round blind. For some, this may be a positive. Others, well just make sure you don’t underestimate the opponent – Note that the TEMPE seeding has yet to be determined as they go into their final week.

2014 Playoff Seeding

1. TEAM TO BEAT (6-2) vs. TEMPE #8 - This team has to be one, if not THE favorite, to take home the ‘chip this season. Their scoring is top-notch. Only question going into the tournament - “Can they play enough defense to keep teams at bay?”

2. PHX BALLERS (6-2) vs. TEMPE #7 - Quietly one of the best teams in the league. They know each other’s strengths and weaknesses and get solid play from everyone on their team. Anything less than a Final Four appearance should be considered a disappointment.

3. SUPERSONICS (5-3) vs. TEMPE #6 - My sleeper team to win the whole thing. They enter the playoffs on a loss, but that should motivate this team and help them advance pretty far in the tournament. They’ll go as far as Darrin Dorsey can take them.

4. PINK CANOES (5-3) vs. TEMPE #5 - Came back down to earth a bit after a hyped-up preseason, but I think they’ve found their groove and their size is still their biggest advantage. If they play up to their expectations, a Final Four appearance should be in their cards.

5. XOVER (4-4) vs. TEMPE #4 - This is not where I thought they’d be at the end of the season. The roller coaster season cost them home court advantage and now have to play a top four team from Tempe. We’ll see how this team handles this adversity. I can see them advancing past the 1st round, but how far they can go remains to be seen.

6. TIMELIFERS (4-4) vs. TEMPE #3 - They started the season off strong and had a chance to be a top four team going in the final week, but it just wasn’t meant to be. They will now have to travel to Tempe to play their 1st round game. They have a good chance to play spoiler since they’re playing a new opponent, but TEMPE fields a strong group of teams and I would be surprised if this team can get out of the 1st round.

7. PILLSBURY B BOYS (3-5) vs. TEMPE #2 - The first half of the season, this team looked like the most electrifying team in the league. However, they lost a couple key players and haven’t been the same for the last four games. If they can find a nice scoring groove, they’ve got a good shot at advancing, but my money is on them being one and done.

8. COBRA KAI (2-6) vs. TEMPE #1 - They’ll have to play arguably a team that might be the best from either league. They’ve got some nice bigs on this team and this will help them to be competitive, but It’s going to be a tough battle regardless. Let’s hope for the best, but I’m expecting the worst.
