SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Week 8 Preview | Battle for Supremacy

If you are still not aware of how the playoffs will work here is the breakdown again. The top 4 seeds in Scottsdale will have home court in the first round starting next Thursday September 4th. The bottom 4 teams from Tempe will be traveling to Scottsdale for the first round. So the bottom 4 teams from Scottsdale will need to travel to Tempe for their first round games. This system of seeding will allow for more interesting match-ups from different clubs. Week 8 Preview

PINK CANOES VS. TIMELIFERS 630PM:
HUGE GAME. Since the Splash Brothers have chosen to be on the Tempe side of the bracket that will leave 9 teams fighting for 8 spots in Scottsdale. So since both teams are 4-3 the winner of this game will automatically receive a top 4 seed and receive homecourt for the first round of the playoffs next week. The loser will need to travel to Tempe for their first round matchup. Prepare for some fireworks in this one folks!
PREDICTION: PINK CANOES -8

AMATEUR HOUR VS. TEAM TO BEAT 630PM:
Team to Beat are in position to take over the #1 seed in Scottsdale if they can win both games in their double header this week. They already own the tiebreaker with the Phx Ballas and a victory over the Supersonics would be all they need. However with the Supersonics being their 2nd game of a back to back its going to be a challenge. Unfortunately for Amateur Hour their playoff hopes are over this season. Cobra Kai clinched a playoff berth last week with their win and now have the tie breaker over Amateur Hour. Finish strong Amateur Hour and we hope to see you all for Fall Season in October!
PREDICTION: TEAM TO BEAT -21

PILLSBURY BBOYS VS. PHX BALLAS 730PM:
The Pillsbury BBoys have an outside shot at a top 4 seed for homecourt but when I say outside I mean OUTSIDE. They would need Team to Beat to lose both games on Thursday and would need a victory this week over the Phx Ballas. The Canoes and Timelifers both have wins over Pillsbury this season so a 4-4 record will not cut it. The Phx Ballas will clinch the #1 seed if Supersonics and Team to Beat loses one game. The only way they lose the #1 seed is if Team to Beat wins both their games this week. They already own the tiebreaker on the Supersonics but Team to Beat would have the tiebreaker on them.
PREDICTION: PHX BALLAS -12

SUPERSONICS VS. TEAM TO BEAT 730PM:
The Supersonics will need a win and a Phx Ballas lost this week if they are to have any shot at the #1 seed. The real question is how much longer will the Darrin Dorsey show continue? The past 2 weeks he’s put up some of the most ridiculous lines we’ve ever seen in the history of UHoops basketball. If he can stick around for the remainder of the season the Supersonics just might be my favorite to come out of Scottsdale. Team to Beat will be at a disadvantage for this game since it will be their 2nd game of a back to back that night. However Team to Beat is the only team in Scottsdale that will be able to control their own destiny depending if they win or not. If they win out Thursday, they are the regular season champs and the #1 seed for Scottsdale.
PREDICTION: SUPERSONICS -4

COBRA KAI VS. SPLASH BROTHERS 830PM:
There is absolutely nothing at stake for this game as Cobra Kai is a lock for the #8 seed and will not be able to advance any higher based on tiebreakers. The Splash Brothers will have nothing to play for, as they will be eliminated from the Scottsdale bracket and put into Tempe’s side. This will be a tune up game for both teams as they both prepare for the playoffs.
PREDICTION: SPLASH BROTHERS -23

AMATEUR HOUR VS. XOVER 830PM:
XOVER will have a shot for the #6 seed with a win and a Timelifers lost this week. They will not be able to advance any higher than #6 as the Pillsbury Boys own the tiebreaker on them. However I think XOver will be one of our sleeper teams to pull off an upset over in Tempe for playoffs. They are not the typical #6 seed as they have a lot of veteran talent and guys that know how to win in the playoffs. I would not want to face them in the first round and if I were a Tempe team I would do everything I can to avoid being the #3 seed.
PREDICTION: XOVER -18
