SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Week 6 Preview | The Borin Curse is Real

Every team Borin Ngov has ranked #1 this season have lost the following week and have went on to lose multiple games after that. The Splash Brothers, Pink Canoes and the Timelifers are his latest victims. Will the Phx Ballas be next this week?

WEEK 6 PREVIEW

COBRA KAI VS. SUPERSONICS 630PM:
The big question surrounding the Supersonics this week is has Darrin Dorsey and TJ Campbell played their last game? When will Dale Samson return from his knee injury? What team will the Sonics put on the court this week? It’s been the same questions we have to ask every week because we honestly don’t know. Kyle Hansen has been one of the few players the Sonics can count on week in and week out. He plays hurt and is a true warrior on the court. Cobra Kai lost in a barn burner last week and should be in another dog fight this week. Shane Zink will need a lot more help this season if Cobra Kai plans to get another win this season. Will new waiver wire addition Zach Meyer be the answer?
PREDICTION: Supersonics by 7

PILLSBURY BBOYS VS. TIMELIFERS 630PM:
This should be a pretty great matchup this week as both teams have a lot to prove. The Pillsbury BBoys are now ranked #2 for the season and I’m afraid they might have just reached their ceiling as I don’t see the ranking holding up after losing star point guard Michael Bizoukas for the season. They struggled last week getting by Cobra Kai last week and will have even a tougher matchup this week against a very strong Timelifers group that’s played everyone tough this season. But who knows the Pillsbury Boys have proven me wrong all season and have become the Cinderella team everyone loves. Maybe they keep their winning streak all season, who knows? We seen crazier things in Scottsdale this season. The Timelifers have lost 2 straight since being crowned #1 just 2 weeks ago. However both losses were by only 3 points so they can still easily have been 5-0 right now. League Coordinator Borin Ngov has a pretty good track record of messing teams up this season after putting them high in the power rankings so I will not go against that now.
PREDICTION: Timelifers by 5

AMATEUR HOUR VS. SPLASH BROTHERS 730PM:
Amateur Hour probably picked the worst possible week to be playing the Splash Brothers. The Splash Bros have lost 2 straight games including their game in Tempe last week and will definitely be ready to bounce back and get their mojo back. I’m going to say it now; this game is going to be ugly. Nick Tomsick dropped 57 last week on the Phx Ballas and is now averaging an absurd 45 points per game. He might be the only player in this league capable of putting up 60 and this game just might be the game he does it. However Amateur Hour have been improving in recent weeks and have finally developed some chemistry. Chris “The Rock” Venturina has returned to the lineup and provided the team with some solid muscle and hustle. Carmelo D Amore and Zach Shea have provided the team with some much needed scoring. If both Amateur Hour and the Tempe FA team both go 0-8 we plan on having a play in game between the two for the final playoff spot so not all hope is lost for the post season. So keep your head up fellas and just have fun out there.
PREDICTION: Splash Brothers by 37

PHX BALLAS VS. TEAM TO BEAT 730PM:
I didn’t see what happened last week but I heard Brad “Surfboard” Carroll got knocked back into 2nd grade last week with an elbow. Hope you’re ok “bro” because your team is going to need you this week against the top ranked Phx Ballas. If Surfboard plays I see this team having a very solid chance at upsetting the Ballas. Not because I think the Ballas are horrible but because Borin Ngov have them ranked them #1 this week and we all know the “curse” is real. I don’t think a team has been ranked #1 for more than 2 weeks because of the Borin curse. It’s not quite on the level of the Madden curse yet but it’s getting there…so that leaves me predicting an upset this week.
PREDICTION: Team to Beat by 4

PINK CANOES VS. XOVER 830PM:
No team has been hit harder by the Borin curse than the Pink Canoes. The Canoes have lost 3 straight games after being ranked #1 by Borin and have watched their season go down in flames ever since. Will they bounce back? I’m not so sure anymore as they are set to face a very tough XOver team this week. The Seth Robinson and Fred Dudley matchup this week will no doubt be an ESPN Courtside Classic. I thought getting Adam Grimes and Lance Williams back in the lineup was going to put this team over the top but its turned out to be the complete opposite as they have lost every game since Lance’s return. It’s a good thing they still have 3 weeks to get it all figured out because I still see the Canoes making a strong postseason run. XOver will need to get dynamic scorer Randy Bronner back in their lineup soon because they are not the same team with out him. XOver has had a size advantage on every team this season but this week not so much. It’s going to be the battle of the giants!
PREDICTION: Pink Canoes by 5 (Curse has to end sometime right?)
