TEMPE, AZ: Week 5 Power Rankings | Brandon Walker Checks in for Midseason Recap

Brandon Walker says his Bulls are still the team to beat in Tempe. What do you think?

Week 5 Power Rankings

1. Hashtag- Its officially in the books now Tempe, team Hashtag has proven they’re the team to beat in this league. With a collective effort from all positions they came out victorious over Arizona Powerhouse Splash Brothers. I believe we have created us a rivalry between these two teams so watch to see if they battle again when the playoffs come around.

2. Bulls- The Bulls are back with fire in their eyes trying to get back to that top spot in the power rankings. With a great deal of respect for the Bulls, I believe when Mark Hanoosh was getting over his injury trying to get his game back, the Bulls followed him in a minor slump. As he has overcome his foot injury, this week has proven that his game and the real Bulls are back. With this win this week and the chemistry used to get it has brought them up to 2nd in the power rankings this week.

3. Splash Brothers- What a devastating loss for the Splash Brothers this week. It appeared to me that they were missing something in their offense. Nick Tomsick kept them in the game but just couldn’t hit behind the arc to save his life going 2-16 from the field. Also missing Bret Bernbaum in their offense took hit for them not being able to stay with the high octane offense of team Hashtag. There might be a different outcome if these variables change in their next matchup.

4. Who’s Next- Even missing their best player Weylen Towns, their team has such great chemistry they are able to play through it and still win when they need it most.

5. Downtown- This team has the ability to make a big statement in this league if they learn about each other’s strengths and weaknesses and use them against their opponents. Omar is the best all-around big in this league and needs to be given the chance to shine and make a bigger impact on their games. If they can gain some chemistry before the playoffs this team can upset some good teams.

6. Monstars – Came out with an easy victory verses the free agent team. The true test will come next week verses the Splash Brothers.

7. Bad Guys- Coming off a bad loss and a bye week they should be fueled to play next week against the Bulls.

8. The Wolves – They just can’t figure it out, individually this team you would think can do some damage. Basketball is all about the guy you’re playing next too and covering each other’s mistakes to overcome adversity. If this team would just get some chemistry together they would be alright.

9. Tempe FA- Playing better and better every game, this week they showed they just couldn’t hold on for 2 halves, but stuck around the entire first half. Just keep working hard guys!

Tempe League Coordinator Jovan Wright had a chance to sit down with UHLife Writer Brandon Walker and talk about the first half of the season. See what they had to say here
