SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Week 5 Preview | Phx Ballas on the Rise

The Phx Ballas have won 3 straight and are now the #2 ranked team in Scottsdale. Their match up this week against #1 ranked Splash Brothers has been deemed the Game of the Week. Will that winning streak continue or will the Splash Brothers put them back into their place? Find out here and see what our media team thinks…

COBRA KAI VS. PILLSBURY BBOYS 630PM:
After a meeting with our media team we all agreed Cobra Kai might have just clinched a playoff berth with their victory last week over Amateur Hour. That’s the good news, the bad news is that might be the only win for the rest of the season. Team Captain Brandt Wilson disagrees as he should but we just don’t see it happening. The Pillsbury Boys have been riding an emotional high for the last 2 weeks as Bizouka Mania has taken the league by storm but that ride is coming soon to an end as Michael Bizouka has decided to take his talents elsewhere and will not be returning this season. How will the team respond with the lost of their star point guard? One thing we know is sharpshooter Klayton Kristick will have to work a lot harder to get his shot off now.
PREDICTION: Pillsbury by 10

SPLASH BROTHERS VS. PHX BALLAS 630PM:
The Splash Brothers are in for a big week as they face the 2 top seeds in Tempe and Scottsdale this week. After destroying the Canoe’s last week by 21 points the Splash Brothers have proved they are the best team in Scottsdale and its not really even close when they have their full team in uniform. The Phx Ballas lost to the Canoes by 18 in week 1 so if you do your math correctly the Splash Brothers should have no problem in this game. However I think the Ballas are a different team than they were in week 1 as Tyrone Jones has been on a tear lately and has really put the team on his shoulders this season. Tyrone is a matchup nightmare for every team in the league as he can go inside and outside. He’s going to need another monster game this week if they are to have any chance in this game.
PREDICTION: Splash Brothers by 8

AMATEUR HOUR VS. SUPERSONICS 730PM:
Will the real Supersonics team please stand up? Which team will show up this week? The Sonics now have 10 players on their active roster but we have yet to see the entire team play in a game together this season. They looked like world-beaters two weeks ago taking down the Canoes but last week was a different story. So doing an accurate prediction on the Sonics is pretty much impossible because we never know who’s going to be in uniform. Amateur Hour looked a lot better last week after nearly taking down Cobra Kai, they were only a 4 point play away from getting the W. I can see the chemistry starting to come together but it’s going to be a long shot for the playoffs as 3 of their remaining teams are playoff contenders. This week’s game has pretty much turned into a must win game for Amateur Hour if they are to have any shot at making the playoffs.
PREDICTION: Supersonics by 13 (If at least 6 of their players show up)

PINK CANOES VS. TEAM TO BEAT 730PM:
The Pink Canoes have fallen on some hard times the past 2 weeks and now get talented Team to Beat up next. Hopefully the Canoes will get Center Adam Grimes back from injury this week as you can see they are not the same team with out him. Adam if you are reading this we all wish you a speedy recovery and hope everything is ok with you at the hospital. I have no doubt the Canoes will be fine once they get everyone back healthy, but time is running out and star forward Seth Robinson will need to go into beast mode soon. Team to Beat is coming off a strong win last week over then top ranked Timelifers last week. Adding former Cardinals quarterback John Skelton to the mix has this team as legit contenders for the rest of the season. I think the guard play for Team to Beat will be too much to handle for the Canoes this week and if Adam remains out it’s going to be another tough game for the Canoes.
PREDICTION: Team to Beat by 4

XOVER VS. TIMELIFERS 830PM:
“They are who we thought they were!” The Timelifers streak came to an end as they got their first real test last week. However I think they are more talented than we give them credit for. Team to Beat is a very talented team and for them to lose by only 3 I will give them some respect. They don’t have any superstars that can go out and give them 30 every night but they all play very well collectively as a group. All their starters are capable of putting up double figures which is what you want in a team. XOver fell victim to another miraculous shot by “Capri Pants” last week. But that is why I love this league so much and I’m sure all the players will agree with me. Anything can happen and if you don’t come to play you’re going to get beat. We have 7 teams with already 2 wins under their belt. XOver will need to get a win this week if they want to stay in the upper echelon of teams this season. I think the size of XOver and the Fred Dudley factor will be too much for the Timelifers to handle.
PREDICTION: XOver by 7
