MANSFIELD, TX: The Playoffs At Its Best, This Is For All The Marbles
Milan hits the jumper
Spring Season has been quite the joy ride, but this upcoming Tuesday will mark the most exciting, most intense and probably the most emotional games of the entire season as 3 teams plan to bring their A+ game to battle it out for #1, bragging rights, and the coveted trophy. So, who really wants it more? I get excited just thinking about it!
7:15 - Lunch Ballers vs Vets
Where do I begin. This is going to be one heck of a game. Lunch Ballers have had a vendetta out for The Vets since the beginning of the season, and won the regular series season between them, taking both games. But things can easily turn when it comes down to crunch time, and if anyone has followed or seen The Vets' performance during the playoffs you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. The big man match up between both teams will be crucial, and Lunch Ballers will have to run the floor exceptionally well while utilizing their big man Laurence Daggett if they want to get an edge on this veteran team. The Vets' main key may be sniper shooter Milan Sanders who seems to be back in mint condition after suffering a leg/ankle injury mid season, and is known to be extraordinary during the post season. He's missed a couple of games this season due to other obligations but will be there Tuesday night to show up and show out, and help his team exact revenge I don't doubt that. 25-54 (46%) from long range this season, somebody is going to have to literally get a hand in his face or reap the consequences. They may dominated them in the regular season, but I see The Vets 1-upping Lunch Ballers due to their experience, and propensity to really turn it up during playoffs. Prediction: The Vets by 5.
Championship Prediction
Now I could be wrong here, but after seeing the first game of the season between Heavy Hitters and The Vets, I personally predicted Heavy Hitters to take the crown. Overall, they are the most efficient team in this league, and they get up the floor in a flash, taking advantage of the fast break. Jacob Van has been nothing short of phenomenal, and has been increasingly more effective each game, scoring a season high 29 in the quarter finals in the win against Hoop Squad and he is an excellent defender who carries his team not with his words, but with his performance. Everyone on the team is pretty effective at their position, and eyes have been on this team the entire season. The Vets managed to deliver them their only loss, and I see it being a brawl to the finish no matter which team they face, but I still believe that they will dig in deeper than ever before to call the Spring trophy theirs. Either team they face, Heavy Hitters by 3.
Good luck to all teams, and as always, may the best team win!
