PHOENIX, AZ: Week 5 Preview | Who's Next Already Thinking About Next Season?

Kris Hennen and Dwayne Hunter of Who's Next

Who’s Next has gotten off to a rocky start this Spring and may have already started thinking about next season already. However Top Free Agent Nick Tomsick is set to join the team this week and will look to help get this season turned around. But will he be enough? Check out this week’s preview…

6PM TEMPE VS HEAD BUSTAS: The Head Bustas are leading the league in rebounds and by a pretty big margin. They have quietly become one of the most physical teams in the league. After almost getting upset last week the Head Bustas will be looking to build some momentum after their big emotional win. Tempe is coming off 3 straight losses and are hungry for a win to get this season turned around. However with Head Bustas new point guard acquisition last week I don’t see that happening this week. The Head Bustas will be a force to be reckoned with now that they have a point guard that can distribute the ball and make everyone better.
PREDICTION: Head Bustas by 6

7PM LIFETIME TEMPE VS BULLS: On paper this should be the game of the week but I’m afraid to say that because the Bulls have blown everyone out by at least 20+ in every game this season and are now the #2 ranked team in the nation according to this National Power Ranking List. However I think it’s a very interesting matchup because of the size advantage Lifetime Tempe has over the Bulls. We all know the Bulls can shoot lights out but if they ever have a bad game shooting this would not be a good game to have one. Lifetime Tempe will not be giving up many offensive rebounds and would dominate the boards. I’m not going to get crazy and predict an upset but I am very interested in seeing how this game plays out with Lifetime coming off 3 straight wins and confident they can beat anybody right now.
PREDICTION: Bulls by 8

8PM WHO’S NEXT VS UPPER ECHELON: With both teams at 0-4 this is going to be an ESPN Classic. One team will get their first win and one team will be 0-5. Its going to be a fun game to watch but I think Upper Echelon will be getting their first win and possibly win out and save their season like I been predicting for weeks. However I am very excited to see Nick Tomsick finally suit up and get going for Who’s Next. He was the nation’s leading scorer in junior college just 2 seasons ago and has recently just got done playing at Fort Lewis. Who’s Next has had a very hard time putting the ball in the basket this season but I think that will change fairly soon with Nick on board.
PREDICTION: Upper Echelon by 6

9PM GILBERT VS MONSTARS: The two Gilbert teams are set to go at it Tuesday night but it might not be very pretty. The Monstars have an advantage at just about every position. However they have had a hard time putting together a full roster the last few weeks and if they come short handed again who knows anything can happen. The Gilbert team leads the league in 3 point makes per game and if they get hot watch out. But honestly I think the Monstars are just on cruise control right now waiting to get their shot at the #1 ranked Bulls in week 7. They are the #4 ranked team in the nation right now according to the National Power Rankings and know the only thing stopping them from a title would be the Bulls.
PREDICTION: Monstars by 10
