TULSA, OK: Past League Champs Clash for Bragging Rights
The lean away!
The last two league champions met early in the season to determine early bragging rights. The Money Team, the fall league champions battled the summer league champions in Old School Monday night to determine early bragging rights for the winter league. The Money Team was hungry for a win after losing the first game of the season, while Old School tried to prove they were the real champs.
The game was highly competitive as both teams came ready to play. The game had a playoff feel to it, as both teams battled with unmatched intensity until the end. The first half was back and forth the whole way with Old School holding a slim 33-31 lead. Will Franklin from the Money Team and Chris Mathurin had a show down matching shot for shot it seemed like in the second half. Both players took control for their respective teams each shooting over 50% from the field. Will led his team with 26 points while Chris scored a game high 36 points. The game was close all the way through until the last 7 minutes and Old School finally took control winning 80-66.
If this was a preview of the playoffs then we are in for a treat. Both teams have the talent to win it all if they stay consistent and keep coming together as a team. The Money Team will be looking to rebound after suffering two early season losses, while Old School hopes to continue their dominance into the playoffs. It is a long season, and if we are lucky, these teams will play again later.
