MANSFIELD, TX: Taylor Hill Is A True Lunch Baller

Taylor Hill takes it in for the easy 2.

This may be Taylor Hill's first official season as a UHoops player, but he has been a Lunch Baller for quite some time now. What a coincidence that he happens to play for a team that goes by that exact same name! But, what exactly is Lunch Ball?

Here at Mansfield, "Lunch Ball" can be almost be seen as a pastime for many of the adult members who enjoy a good game of basketball. It attracts those who are looking to "get some runs in", "work on their cardio", or simply catching up with fellow friends to have a good time. It is guaranteed that you will see these guys piling into the club around noon every Monday and Friday, it never fails. Many of these guys also participate in UHoops, which has made Lunch Ball a staple for finding new talent, as well as reconnecting with past players and building rapport with the entire league itself.

Now it may sound like Lunch Ball is primarily suitable for an older crowd of ball players, but young athletes like Taylor Hill have been hooping with the guys for quite some time now. With scheduling conflicts preventing him from playing in UHoops in past seasons, he finally got his chance compete this Fall, and he happens to play for team Lunch Ballers. He is one of the few, if not, the only player on his team who actually plays Lunch Ball on Mondays and Fridays(the newer players decided to keep the team name in hopes that it would bring them good luck).

Hill has had a solid and productive season, averaging 11.5 points and 7.2 rebounds, with 2 double doubles recorded in games 5 and 6 respectively, making himself quite an asset to his team. Even though Lunch Ballers finish the season at 2-6 going into the playoffs, many of the games were only decided by a few points such as last week against We Get Buckets (68-72), and Hill says that they are still confident going into the playoffs, and will definitely not go out without a fight!

Playoff games tipoff this upcoming Tuesday. Will Taylor Hill and his posse manage to cause any upsets and shake things up at Mansfield? Or will these playoffs actually be a predictable one, as many have said so? Leave your comments below!
