MANSFIELD, TX: Can A Name Change Make A Difference?

Ex-Veteran player Sam Bailey continues to elevate his game, averaging a double-double, and has increased his scoring every game so far this season. Also, the team is moving quite well together, and is looking very confident as a unit. Could the name change have a part in their success?

By name change, we mean the team name. Formerly known as the Texas Heat, we've seen this team struggle immensely in the previous seasons. Now officially known as The Fundamentalists, this team is recognized by the other teams as a contender, and Sam has let it be known that he is a trained veteran, and is proving himself to be a strong leader.

At 2-1, The Fundamentalists are tied with 2 other teams, but remain the #3 seed. Though they score an average of 72.3 points per game (5th out of 6), they only allow 72 points per game, which ranks 1st in the Mansfield league. Shooting has also improved.

With the addition of gunner Thang "Tin" Dinh, who has hit 8-19 (42%) from long range, and elevated play from guard Bert Milliner who is averaging almost 14 points a game, The Fundamentalists seem to be a real deal, putting behind their Texas Heat ways.

Can a name change bring forth confidence and a sense of togetherness? Will we see these guys in the Finals or is it too early to tell? Leave your comments below!
