DALLAS, TX: The New Comers Claim 1st Place | Money Ball Takes 1st Wild Card Spot

It is finished...The New Comers claim 1st place for the Dallas Athletic League after a rough start taking the title from Fall Season Champions Money Ball.

A 6 man squad composed of Michael Finley, Maximus Kirk, Torri Williams, Dave Little (Super Dave), Jeremy Eaves, and Jeff Mathews worked hard to fight for first place fighting a very strong and talented team, The Late Comers. The Late Comers were ICE COLD first half with the rim rejecting almost every shot that went up. They ended the half down by 17 and were down by 23 at one point. Come second half The Late Comers that we all know came back to life coming within two points of The New Comers at one point in the game. Unfortunately the deficit was too great to recover from. The game ended 86 to 82.

So what's next? The Dallas City Championship! Dallas Athletic is bringing a team and are ready to prove to Dallas that they are the best in Dallas. But, The New Comers aren't the only team coming to fight for that spot.

It's official, the first wild card team has been identified. Fall Season Champions Money Ball will be fighting to make their way back to the top. We still have one spot open to join the tournament, so contact Kevin Minich ASAP if you want to fill that spot. I know a lot of guys are wanting in, so I foresee that spot being taken very soon.

Plano Champions: Tropics
Dallas Athletic Champions: The New Comers
Mansfield Champions: The Veterans
Tulsa Champions: No Scrubs
Wild Card: Money Ball
Wild Card: TBD

Predictions anyone? This is how I see it breaking down:
I feel the championship game will be between The New Comers and Tropics. I honestly don't know how the rest will pan out. There are going to be some good games out there though.

Money Ball has a shot for the championship game though. I put Tropics over them simply because of size. Both teams hustle and fast break like crazy, so really the decision came down to Tropics having solid big men. We shall see though...
