NBA's Durant scores 52 points on Friday night. Falls 44 points shy of Zef Deda's UH scoring record
It was a heck of a try, KD.
Kevin Durant scored 52 points against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday in the Thunder's 117-114 OT victory. KD was 13-for-31 from the field and perfect 21-for-21 from the free throw line.
Despite the 50 plus performance, Durant still fell 44 points shy of the Ultimate Hoops Single-Game Scoring Record of 96 points set by Detroit's Zef Deda in Winter Season 2010. Deda was 36-63 from the field that night. Yes, 63 shots. He was also 24-of-47 from behind the arc.
And let it not go unnoticed the Thunder/Mavericks game went into OT. No doubt Deda would have broken 100 points if another 3 minutes were put on the clock in the Lights Out/Lakers game.
So good effort, KD. Keep aiming for the sky.
