GILBERT, AZ: Week 4 Power Rankings | A tale of two cities

GRINDIN is off to a rough start, but Kenny Mahone has got his groove back and should lead the way for them to make a run back to the top

Week 4 Power Rankings

1. GAME OVER (3-0, LW 1) – The names are familiar but they aren’t quite the same team here as they are in the Tempe league, but I must say that this Gilbert team is way more talented. They have lapses at times on defense and still need time to get things together in that aspect, but this team is fun to watch and I can’t wait to see what they do in the National Tournament in a few weeks.

2. HITTIN TRIPS (3-1, LW 3) – This is one team I expect to go deep in the state tournament. They have a great scoring one-two punch with Conner Exline and Christian Quiroz, and if they can somehow find a big to complement them, they have a shot at challenging Game Over for Gilbert League champs. But I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself; they first need to show that they have it in them in big games and this week’s matchup against GO will be a great measuring stick.

3. REGULATORS (2-1, LW 2) – Played Game Over tough for 30 minutes last week, but fell apart in the last 10 or so minutes. They have a lot of complementary pieces and they all play off each other well at times, but the team chemistry is not quite there yet and will continue to have trouble late in games until they fix it.

4. GRINDIN (1-2, LW 4) – They got off the schneid with a solid win last week and they’ve played arguably the hardest schedule to date but I expected more from this talented group. They should pick up a few more wins in the upcoming weeks and make their move back to the top of the pack.

5. HEATWAVE (0-4, LW 5) – This scrappy bunch played their best ball of the season last week and looked to finally get a solid rotation in place. They just don’t have the fire power and consistency to win those tough games but will put a good fight every game.
