GILBERT, AZ: Week 2 Power Rankings | Gilbert back at it again

It's all smiles for GRINDIN now, but will they still be smiling at seasons end?

Week 2 Power Rankings

1. GAME OVER (1-0, LW -) – I know I’ve said this before but this might truly be the most talented team Donald Didlake has ever assembled. They are poised to take this league and hopefully can gel in time to make a strong run in Las Vegas during the National Tournament. They should put up great numbers offensively and give the smaller teams trouble. As long as they continue to play together, they should be favored in every game this season.

2. HITTIN TRIPS (1-0, LW --) – Same name but they don’t look the same and they don’t play the same. Last year, the team struggled to find their identity and the players never meshed. However, James Nodoroa has reloaded and brought in some pretty good talent to add to the group, and on paper, they look strong. It may take a few more weeks to learn how to adapt to the league game but the players they have look comfortable together. I expect them to make a solid run this year.

3. GRINDIN (0-1, LW --) – They added much needed fire power in Kenny Mahone, but I think they take a step back by losing both big men Brent Canada and Pat Nardi. Once again depth will be their demise (they only had four players show up for week 1) but I expect them to find their groove anytime soon and be in the mix once again as top contenders in the league.

4. REGULATORS (1-0, LW --) – League veteran Jason Tollefson took his talents last year to HITTIN TRIPS and it is safe to say that it was a colossal bust. He just couldn’t find his groove playing with that team. This year, he’s brought in his own players and so far so good. He’s found the right complement of players of hustlers and shooters to mesh with his playmaking skills. This team will make some noise and surprise those who aren’t ready for their style of play.

5. HEATWAVE (0-1, LW --) – Once again, the Partee brothers (Kenem and Bernard) have assembled a guard heavy team. Adding new players is always going to take time to work in roles and substitution patterns, but it is hard to see this team put together anything more a win or 2 this season. They struggled mightily in their first week dropping only 27 total points. They’ll need to find the magic and hopefully once they get their first win under their belt, it might propel their confidence.
