COMMERCE OPEN: Dat Aint Fair finishes off 10-0 season with 31-pt blowout in Championship Game
Jarrod Rice, Vaughn Gray, Darryl Foster having some laughs after winning a championship
The pre-season rankings for the Commerce Open Winter session had Dat Aint Fair ranked #1 and two months later they legitimized that ranking by completing a 10-0 season by defeating an overmatched Sons of Basketball team 85-54 in the championship. DAF was unconscious from distance, shooting 56% from 3 pt land as a team on their way to 18 makes from downtown. Darryl Foster was the MVP of the night for Dat Aint Fair pouring in 25 pts and 8 reb in the championship game and another 27 pts and 5 reb in the semi-finals despite battling plantar fasciitis. This session, Foster has earned the right to be called the best player in the league.
DAF also got huge nights from role players David Acho and Bill Treece who combined for 11 three pters and 46 pts in the championship game. This took pressure of Ultimate Hoops veterans Vaughn Gray (6 pts, 6 ast) and McKinsey Golfin (4 pts, 4 reb) who were happy to take a back seat to their teammates on the road to their second consecutive championship. Gray and Golfin are now a combined 19-1 over the last 2 sessions at Commerce and established dominance over all over franchises by hanging another banner.
In the 10 games this season, Dat Aint Fair averaged 96.4 points per game. Individual stats for the championship team:
