GILBERT, AZ: Week 2 Power Rankings | Same Old Song and Dance
HITTIN TRIPS has taken a step back this season. Can they find their groove before it's too late?
Week 2 Power Rankings
1. GAME OVER (2-0, LW 1) – Another strong showing for this group last week. They look to be in a groove and are playing well together. They should put up great numbers offensively and give the smaller teams trouble. As long as they continue to play together, they should be favored in every game this season.
2. SET IT OFF (2-0, LW 2) – They unveiled a shiny new piece to their squad by adding the ultra-athletic Boo Wade to the mix. He will add an element that few teams will be able to match. This team looks to be coming together again and looks like everyone has found their niche. They are as dangerous as they come and will be a strong challenge for GAME OVER.
3. STAFFBROTHERS (2-0, LW 3) – This is a different team than we’ve seen in the past. Will Sorensen and Kyli Crooms play well together and are a formidable offensive duo. Add in Reggie Jackson, and you’ve got the making of a very solid team. Danny Giang goes unnoticed but he’s as dynamic as they come. Most will dismiss this team because of their lack luster past, but as I said before, this team has finally grown up.
4. GRINDIN (0-2, LW 4) – They took a step back last week as they were unable to find the groove against the STAFFBROTHERS. They bring back the same group but incorporating Steven Wess is going to take some time. Depth will be a problem but I expect them to find their groove anytime soon and be in the mix once again as top contenders in the league.
5. HITTIN TRIPS (0-2, LW 5) – They just don’t look the same; they just don’t play the same. They brought in some good talent to add to the group, and on paper, they look just as strong; it just hasn’t meshed on court. It may take a few more weeks to learn how to adapt, but they’ve got to get it together soon or there will be some unhappy campers. With the losses piling up, I can hear some grumblings already.
6. HEATWAVE (0-2, LW 6) – They are guard heavy but added a few new players last week that should help out in the depth department. Adding new players is always going to take time to work in roles and substitution patterns, but it is hard to see this team put together anything more a win or 2 this season. They’ll need to find the magic and hopefully once they get their first win under their belt, it might propel their confidence.
