WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 3 Preview | Where's the upset?
Nick Nizam playing some D
We are in the full swing of things in the Westminster winter league. Four teams are undefeated and four teams are looking for their first wins of the season. Something tells me some of those things are going to change. Here is your week three preview.
Life Time Legends vs. Long Shots
Judging by these two teams play the last couple weeks, it’s easy to say that it will be a “Long Shots” for the Legends to win this week. Long Shots are undefeated thus far but have yet to be really tested this season and this week should be much the same. The Legends are still working out the kinks in learning to play with each other and unfortunately it’s hard to do in a tough matchup like this. Don’t expect much out of this first game, but hopefully the Legends will make me eat my words and turn this into a game no one expected.

Eat, Sleep, Ball, Repeat vs. Purple Cobras
ESBR is still winless on the year but have gone up against some stiff competition in the first couple weeks. This is their chance to get into the win column and gain some momentum for the rest of the season. Purple Cobras are 1-1 and have played surprisingly well for a team that has never played together before. This should be a pretty close matchup and is one win that is attainable for either side. Both teams share the ball quite well and that will be a crucial key to victory for either side. ESBR will need some hot shooting from Nick Folkedahl and if he is on his game, they are a very hard team to beat. This should be a closely contested game going right down to the wire.

Ciroc Boyz vs. LT Ballers
LT Ballers surprised some people last week and won their first and only game. Its still too early to tell just what kind of team they will be but if any indication, it will be this week against a very good team in the Ciroc Boyz. The Ciroc Boyz pulled out a nail biter last week and after a week one loss are looking to avoid the losing column any more this season. The Ciroc Boyz has so many weapons on the offensive end of the court that really any player could potentially be a game changer. If Ciroc Boyz can pride themselves on the defensive end of the court then they could potentially be a very scary team come playoff time. LT Ballers need to bring their A game if they want to have a chance this week.

IMPACT Basketball vs. Medicinal Mambas
IMPACT is still undefeated much to the surprise on no one. Medicinal Mambas lost a heartbreaker last week but showed that they are a team that isn’t to be taken lightly. With Ruben Rivas at the helm, the Mambas are a threat to win any given game. IMPACT has continued to handle their business and do what they do best… Win. IMPACT should be the favorite this game, but if the Mambas can get a hot hand from outside or stop either Jimmy Binnie or Beau Barney, they could have a chance this week. This should be the game of the night and will be one game the whole gym will have their eyes on.

The Gladiators vs. The Bad Boys
Much of the Gladiators success relies on when Saul Chavira will return. With a scorer like Saul out, the Gladiators are still looking for someone to step up and fill that void. Still, without Saul, they have played some pretty good basketball but will need to play “GREAT” basketball if they want to compete with the Bad Boys this week. The Bad Boys are sporting their best roster in their team history and are considered an early top 3 team this season. The Bad Boys are big and play disciplined basketball which is a recipe for success that is hard to stop. Carlos Matos is the reigning league MVP and for good reason. The Gladiators will need to be hot from outside and get some stops on the defensive end of the court if they want to have a chance. This game is certainly in the Bad Boys favor but the Gladiators are one team that can always surprise you.
OFFICIAL VEGAS SPREAD: BAD BOYS -12.5
