WESTMINSTER, CO: Playoff Preview | The dirty dozen becomes the great eight

All good things must come to an end, and the summer season wraps up tonight in Westminster, as eight teams vie to make it to the state tournament this weekend. For the first time in club history, no playoff teams have a losing record, so don't expect to see anything but great basketball being played tonight.

Scorgasm vs. Bro Science Life

We kick off the playoffs with a bang as undefeated Scorgasm heads off against Bro Science Life. These two teams played earlier in the season and Scorgasm was dominant, but this is sure to be a different game with Bro Science Life finally seeming to gel here towards the end of the season. The big keys to success for Bro Science Life will be to stop Beau Barney while shooting while from the outside on the offensive end of the court. Players from both teams have played each other for years and each knows each others tendencies. This game should be the ultimate chess match and it wouldn’t be surprising here to see the game go down to the wire.

The Kardashians vs. Long Shots

The Kardashians have struggled without Michael Skinner and they will need to figure out how to play without him if they want to beat the Long Shots. The Long Shots are probably the best team with a bad record in Ultimate Hoops history and they come into these playoffs with a lot to prove. Not only to the rest of the league, but to themselves as well. The Kardashians will look to pound the ball inside to their big man while the Long Shots will look to push the pace and score buckets in transition. These two teams have exact opposite play styles and it will be exciting to see the contrast determine the outcome.

Splash City vs. Big Trouble In Lil Westy

Big Trouble could be in some big trouble if their players don’t make the drive down from college to play in this weeks game. Splash City has been dominant all year and aren’t looking to stop any time soon. Big Trouble started to gel towards the end of the season, so if they can get a full team to show up, they could pose some problems for Splash City. Given the circumstances however, you have to claim Splash City as the favorite in this match-up.

FireSquad vs. The Bad Boys

This is the matchup everyone will have their attention to! These two teams hate each other and every time they play it gets chippy and trash talk is thrown around all over the court. FireSquad was the surprise team this season having only one loss on the year. The Bad Boys didn’t put together a stellar record, but everyone knows the playoffs are when the Bad Boys play their best basketball and tend to surprise everyone. FireSquad will be the favorites this week, but don't be surprised to see The Bad Boys pull off the upset.
