WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 4 Preview | Racing to the midway point

They say time flies when you're having fun, and we're already at the midway point of the summer season at Ultimate Hoops Westminster. The race to be a top eight seed to advance to the playoffs is heating up, and we take a look at this week's matchups.

Long Shots vs. Young Bucks

The Long Shots wont be the long shots to win this game. They will go into this matchup as the favorite and by a big spread. Young Bucks have struggled early on this season and are still looking for that much needed first win to help turn their season around. This game will most likely be a blowout and one that wont be much of a contest at all. The Young Bucks need to figure something out fast or else this could be a very long season for them.

FireSquad vs. The Bad Boys

In the game of the night, an undefeated FireSquad team is going at it against league bad guys in the Bad Boys. These two teams don’t like each other and a lot of trash talking has been heard on both ends heading into this week 4 game. Fire Squad has played stellar to this point and the Bad Boys have played well having only last their first game last week. FireSquad’s Alfredo Garcia single handedly shot his team into a victory last week so it will be interesting to see if he can keep that hot hand. The Bad Boys are much better than prior seasons and they will be leaning on Matt Lloyd to dominate the paint inside. This is one game you won’t want to miss.

In another great matchup this week, two very good teams are both coming off of very tough losses. Splash City’s players aren’t used to losing and last week was the first loss many of their players have had in a few seasons. Bro Science Life has lost some close games early on this year but have showed the potential they have to be a great team in this league. Splash City is the younger and more athletic team, but Bro Science Life has played together for years and have chemistry on their side. This game will likely come down to the wire and will be one the whole rest of the gym will have their eyes on.

The Kardashians vs. Slam Drunk

Slam Drunk will be looking to shake off their rough start against a very good team in the Kardashians. Slam Drunk used to be a powerhouse in the league and after losing a few key players, just haven’t seemed the same since. The Kardashians caught fire last week and that has been the one aspect of their game that has been missing. If they can keep shooting from the outside well, then the Kardashians will be one tough team to beat. Slam Drunk will certainly put up a fight, but its questionable to mark them as favorite as they used to be so often times heading into each week.

Scorgasm vs. Big Trouble In Little Westy

If you love basketball than this is a great night to watch some games because here is another great game on an already packed schedule. Scorgasm is the number one team in the league and Big Trouble isn’t far behind. Every week, Beau Barney gives his team a great chance to win and this week will be no different. Big Trouble has always had the talent to compete in this league, but have never seemed to put together a string of good games. This is their chance to prove to the rest of the league that they belong and are indeed a threat come playoff time. This should be a good game that will go down to the final moments where a few crucial shots could determine the winner. This is one game that you wont want to miss.

The Gladiators vs. Life Time Legends

In a strange twist of fate, this is the best Life Time Legends team we have ever seen and the worst Gladiators team of recent memory. The Gladiators are still rumored to have picked up a key player and if he shows up this week than he could be the difference maker to turn their season around. The Life Time Legends led by Eric Saengchanh have competed in every game this year and are 1 and 2 heading into this game. This game is important for both teams as winning is possible for either side.
