MONTVALE, NJ: We’re Almost There…

Can the Dream Team win it all?

It looks like we will have to wait a few more days to put the final pieces of the playoff puzzle together. In the meantime, here’s what we do know…

With two of the league’s top teams facing each other in our final regular season game Tuesday, a first round bye remains at stake. Here’s how the seeding will go in each scenario. Remember- the top two are off for round one, while #3 plays #6 and #4 gets #5.

If RUNt wins:

#1 Just Ball
#2 RUNt
#3 McNuggets
#4 Ferrall Ballerz
#5 Bad Boyz
#6 Dream Team

If Bad Boyz win:

#1 Bad Boyz
#2 Just Ball
#3 RUNt
#4 McNuggets
#5 Ferrall Ballerz
#6 Dream Team

Regardless of what happens between RUNt and Bad Boyz, Just Ball will be a top-two seed and will not have to play until the semis. They solidified their spot Wednesday night by knocking the McNuggets down a peg after both entered action at 5-2. Welcome back, Tom Alexiou!

Aside from Just Ball’s four-point win, Wednesday night’s action left much to be desired. The Dream Team, already locked in at #6, won their third in a row as they embarrassed the Underdogs. Justin Michalek came up with a triple-double and a PPR that was nearly higher than the ‘Dogs point total.

For those of you scoring at home, this was also the second triple-double (Al Uryniak had the other) recorded against the league’s worst team this season. Yikes.

The Black Ops ended their season by going down without much of a fight to the Ferrall Ballerz, who have also now won three straight. While momentum is a powerful thing, consider that the Dreamers and Ballerz each beat the Underdogs and Black Ops for two of their last three wins.

Do these two trending teams have enough to make a run at the title? Who would you want to be entering the playoffs? We will get our answers soon enough.
