COMMERCE, MI REC: Double Trouble
Jarrod Rice Straight Flexing
In the game of basketball, no matter what level of play it is there are always at least two guys on the same team that causes so many problems for their opponent. Whether it be AAU, High School, College, Professional, or even Rec Leagues sometimes you just cant do anything about it. For example; Kobe Bryant and Richard “RIP” Hamilton played AAU together, then you had the FAB 5 in college, Jordan and Pippen in the NBA, and in the Ultimate Hoops league Jeff Jayson and Brandon Cassise.
The baddest tag team this league has seen is back at it again. Brandon Cassise rejoined C4 last week for his first game of the season. He returned in style dropping 41 points on 52% shooting from the field and 46% from deep. Now you add his play making ability to this already unselfish team, C4 might have just exploded…no pun intended! When you combine those 2 lethal players, with the young and talented Nafso brothers, another sniper from outside in Matthew Manni, Ara Kaypekian aka “AK”, and the big fella Joseph Kassis controlling the paint, they looked poised to make a run at yet another championship.
C4 has a rematch from the week 1 game with One Under where they won by 9 points. Since that game One Under has a few impressive wins over championship caliber teams, but their play seems to be inconsistent. When they play C4 this week it can’t be isolation basketball, or things will get ugly quick. Desmond Sain has been on record saying that neither Justin or Brandon will score more than 20 points if he guards them. We shall see Thursday night at 8pm! He can only guard one of them and if nobody can slow down or even contain the other, they will have some serious problems.
