SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Week 7 Power Rankings | Another One Bites the Dust
Former AZ Cardinals QB John Skelton just showing off his enormous wingspan
This is one deep league. Call me crazy but I think there six legitimate teams that can claim the crown this season. The top tier teams have been evenly matched but one more bad loss and one of these teams will drop out of the top 4 and will have to travel to Tempe for the first round.
Week 7 Power Rankings
1. TEAM TO BEAT (4-2, LW 2) After losing their first two games, they’ve gone on a little bit of a hot streak and now have won four in a row. They are a fun bunch to watch and the addition of big man John Skelton has helped solidify the defense.
2. PHX BALLERS (5-2, LW 3) They got a nice bounce back win after a tough loss the previous week. Tyrone Jones continues to dominate the low block. This team just gets it done and week in and week out as they continue to prove why they are a strong favorite to win the ‘chip.
3. SPLASH BROTHERS (4- 3, LW 1) Sorry guys - the curse does get the best of them. All kidding aside, this team needs to come together and find that swag that had teams worried in the beginning of the season. Come playoff time, teams will look to double Nick Tomsick as much as they can, so Brett Bernbaum, Tristan Boone, and Richard Azevedo need to step it up.
4. PINK CANOES (4-3, LW 4) Welcome back guys. After losing three straight games, they’ve reeled off two straight. They should continue their winning ways next week and be one of the hottest teams going in to the playoffs.
5. SUPERSONICS (5-2, LW 7) Saying Darrin Dorsey is legit might be the understatement of the season. Dropping 62 after coming off a 55 point game the week before is no joke. This team has the swag to beat anyone. If this team stays intact, they might be tagged with the “team to beat” label. The question has always been which team will show up?
6. TIMELIFERS (4-3, LW 5) Their latest loss last week hurt their chances of being a top four team and hosting a playoff round. However there’s still an outside chance for them if they can pull out a surprising win next week, but it’s going to be uphill battle.
7. XOVER (3-4, LW 6) This team has struggled as of late. They’ve lost 3 out of their last 4 and just aren’t getting the same offensive output they were early in the season. This team needs to find their identity and need to do so quickly. Next week should be a good time for them to work out the kinks before the playoffs start.
8. PILLSBURY B BOYS (3-4, LW 8) They have one of the most potent 3-point shooters in the league in Klayton Kristick and big man Brandon Birden is blossoming into a dangerous scoring threat. However, they are still looking for that “it” factor to replace Michael Bizoukas.
9. COBRA KAI (2-5, LW 9) They pulled out a great win against a good team last week in their first game of the double-header, but lost in their 2nd game. They’ve got some nice talent on the team; it’s just unfortunate some of the better teams above them have been playing pretty tough. I look for them to continue to play spoiler the rest of the season.
10. AMATEUR HOUR (0-6, LW 10) Still looking for that elusive first win. Hopefully the bye-week last week will help them.
