COMMERCE, MI REC: Too Hard To Guard
McKinsey Golfin Talking To Weekend Warriors During The Free Throws
Every season in Ultimate Hoops, there is always one player who fans can’t get enough of watching or wonder who is that guy? This season we might just have that one guy who everybody knows and can’t wait until he steps on the floor to put on a show. This player who has been labeled only 4 games into the Summer Season as “too hard to guard”, is Jenero Dawood.
The 6’4 220 pound swingman can pretty much do it all. His mid-range game is solid, he can attack the rack, and the 3 ball is money! Jenero is playing on Rent- A- Bounce this summer and right now his team is 2-1 after defeating the 4-time champions C4 in blowout fashion by a final score of 82-65. In that game Mr. Dawood put up monster numbers. He had 43 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. He shot a blistering 77% from the field and 67% from beyond the arc. The amazing part about the 43 point outburst, the shots he made were all jump shots.
After that performance by Jenero, he had the gym buzzing. As I walked around the gym and overheard conversations, and speaking with several fans; they all have said that no one can stop him and he’s too hard to guard. With the quick release and powerful finishes at the rim, the fans might be on to something. Jenero is averaging 32 ppg on 57% shooting from the field this season. Next up for Jenero and Rent- A- Bounce is another tough opponent in Dat Aint Fair. They’re coming off a 103-98 loss without their star guard McKinsey Golfin. This should be another entertaining and high scoring game for all of us here in the UH Community.
