SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Week 3 Preview | Are the TimeLifers for Real?
Team Captain Taylor Blackwood has the TimeLifers off to a 2-0 start.
The TimeLifers are off to a 2-0 start this season and ranked #3 in our latest Power Rankings. Their average margin of victory has been 30+ the past 2 games. Will that trend continue this week against the Splash Brothers? Find out here…
WEEK 3 PREVIEW
SCOTTSDALE FA VS PHX BALLAS 630PM:
The Ballas are one of the most balanced teams in the league getting double digit scoring from almost their entire team last week. They all play the game the right way and will be a tough out come playoff time. They don’t have that 30-point scorer like some teams have but neither did the San Antonio Spurs. Smart Veteran teams will always find a way to win and I have no doubt they will be in the mix all season. Scottsdale FA was able to pick up a gem in Zach Shea last week who is another lefty 3 point specialist. Do we have a Scottsdale version of Scott Tinagero?
PREDICTION: Phx Ballas by 18
SPLASH BROTHERS VS. TIMELIFERS 730PM:
This is the game of the week. Both teams are coming into this game 2-0 and are ranked #2 and #3 respectively. However one of the Timelifer’s wins was against last ranked Scottsdale FA so to say they are one of the top 3 teams right now is a little premature. This will be a huge test for them and a good measuring stick to see where they stack up in the league. They are however the most unselfish team in the league ranking #1 in assist and by a huge margin. The Splash Brothers looked vulnerable last week struggling to get past the Pillsbury BBoys. Richard Azevedo is the most athletic big man in the league and will need to have more monster games if this team is to contend for a championship. Last week was a good wake up call and the Splash Brothers should have a huge bounce back game this week.
PREDICTION: Splash Brothers by 13
PILLSBURY BBOYS VS. TEAM TO BEAT 730PM:
This just might be the 2nd game of the week as both teams are winless and hungry to get a win. I’m sensing a shootout in this game as both teams are top 3 in 3 point makes per game. Klayton Kristick and Joe Hormes are definitely not gun shy and will definitely make this game very entertaining to watch. Point Guard Michael Bizoukas has become one of the most exciting players in the league with his electrifying moves and reminds of Pistol Pete Maravich but can we get the guy some basketball shorts? Haha jk Mike.
PREDICTION: Team to Beat by 10
COBRA KAI VS. X-OVER 830PM:
Cobra Kai did not wear the Karate Gi’s and were the biggest disappointment in week 2. Things will not get any easier as they face another solid veteran team X-Over this week. X-Over came back strong last week adding dynamic wing Randy Bronner and big man Lavell Jones to the mix. I think when its all said and done X-Over will be a top 3 team in Scottsdale. They now have bigs, shooters and a dynamic go-to scorer on the roster, which are all pieces you need to contend for a championship. It will be interesting to see what team Brandon Walker chooses if his two teams collide in the playoffs as both teams are contenders to win it all.
PREDICTION: X-Over by 16
PINK CANOES VS. SUPERSONICS 830PM:
Pink Canoes are currently ranked #2 in the nation according to this list on UHLife.com, pretty impressive feat for a team with only 4 players in uniform last week. The scary thing is Lance Williams and Travis Olson have yet to suit up. They are both set to return this week and are now the odds on favorite to win it all. The Supersonics will desperately need to get Lee Andari back in the line up this week if they are to have any chance in this game. With Dale Samson out for 4 weeks with a knee injury it’s not looking good for the Supersonics. Team Captain Aaron Braude needs to hit the waiver wire soon and fast if they want to stay in contention this season.
PREDICTION: Pink Canoes by 21
