COMMERCE, MI 6FT & UNDER: Team George Pulls Off An Amzing Victory
Team Justin During A Time-Out
After fighting to make the playoffs all season and trying to make it to the main event these two team show us why they deserved to be here. This night will go down in Ultimate Hoops History. After a gruesome matchup against Team Justin, Team George finds themselves atop the Ultimate Hoops world, winning this seasons “6FT & Under” Championship.
Team George definitely came into this game as the underdog after losing to Team Justin both times they squared off during the regular season. No one thought they would have a chance to beat them in the championship.
The championship game between these two teams had everything you would want to see out of a championship game. With multiple lead changes and the game coming down to the final minutes and the game going into two overtimes, these two teams showed why they both made it this far.
Team Justin was able to overcome an 18 point deficit to ultimately take the lead by three. They smartly fouled so Team George couldn’t tie the game. George Sharrak stepped to the free throw line with 0.8 seconds remaining and mad the first free-throw. Deliberately missing the second, Nick Husaynue was able to tip the miss back in at the buzzer to force overtime. Those late game heroics turned all momentum as Team George was able to hold off Team Justin 71-70 in double overtime.
Team George has pulled off one of the biggest upsets our league has ever seen and going into next season the target will definitely be on their backs. With so many doubters thinking they stood no chance in this game, this victory is so much sweeter for them. Congratulations to Team George, our Spring League Champions.
