MANSFIELD, TX: UHoopaz- There's A First Time For Everything
UHoopaz' Julian Johnson during a fastbreak
UHoopaz are down to the #3 spot after suffering their third loss of the season, and for the first time since forming in the Spring of 2013, they have a losing record going into Week 6. Many have their opinions on what is happening.
This is also the first time UHoopaz have lost 3 games...in any season. UHoopaz did look better as a unit in Week 5 against the Lunch Ballers, but were unable to remain clutch as a couple of missed layups and free throws cost them in a 90-94 loss.
I think we may know what is going on here at Mansfield. There may be a few factors that contribute, but one main factor stands out. The competition bar has raised. The competition level is significantly higher than in the previous seasons, and every team competing wants a piece of UHoopaz this season, it's not a secret. While key players like Tristan Smith, who is averaging just under 29 points a game and almost averaging a triple-double, along with Leonard Frank and Julian Johnson putting up 21 points and 20 points a game, respectively, they are still struggling to adjust to the changing atmosphere of the league.
They say there's a first time for everything, but in the case here, these firsts are not good ones, but lessons can be learned! Will UHoopaz bounce back and go on a roll going into these next few weeks, or will we be seeing a new team emerge as a dominating force of Mansfield UHoops? Leave your comments below!
